UPDATE. I discovered my mistake. The layer thickness was set to 0.25 instead of 0.025 this had a squashed model effect somehow and i failed to spot this mistake. Until i started cleaning up all my test slices of the past days.
Tried it on purpose with wrong settings and wha la... squised models. I feel so stupid right now. but I hope others find them selfs in the same situation. Than i dont have to be alone anymore whahahah.

FIXED But unfortunately we have no real clue what had happend or what caused it. A very very picky manual uninstall with the help of a friend. And a reinstall helped me out

... I'm at a loss here. the Photon slicer (1.3.6) I have used for about 6 months now. has decided to squish all models I want to slice. I have searched the group, and have since checked the settings for the build dimensions, uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled and removed all leftover files and edited the registry. now today I decided to reinstall it with a fresh download. and still squished models. I stopped printing and use the validator to see if I fixed it but no luck so far. has anyone else had this? I sliced a model just before this happened and that .photon is fine after that it's all squished. and my settings are really oke! I have checked it.

Im starting to think there are some corrupted files the slicer uses and these stay behind for some reason. And get used again with a fresh install. Can someone point me to all the locations the installer makes.

for the resin masters:
which resin has the least shrinkage in your experience? Printing standalone pieces is great with anycubic green or clear, however when printing pieces that fit together (a box) I find that the lid does not fit inside the box as it should.
Any advice on which resin to go for?

Hello all. So I finally got a pic of the problem. I am getting half prints. All goes well, print runs complete cycle. But only half the model is printed has happned many times. New usb.update firmware. Success rate is about 50% on prints. So this is what the projector does when it stops curing the resin. It seems to stop projecting to the glass. After I remove the USB and unplug power it works again.

Another question for the group. My friend wants me to print terrain and walls with my printer for D&D. (I'm making him pay for the resin). He isn't too worried about the detail of said terrain. What is an acceptable layer hight to print in. Is something like .1 mm to thick or will it still turn out ok?

So my new photon arrived yesterday. Did not even turn on. Checked the power converter output with a volt meter and saw a steady 12 volts. Very disappointed. It is being returned and another one is on the way.
I'm thinking this may be a very delicate unit that gets easily damaged during shipping.

Second print was a success. Very happy with this printer so far. One question though. The small cracks in him seem really glossy, almost wet still. Did I need to soak longer in ipa or what is this from?

It's hard to know which adhesion, layer misalignment, Z wobble, separation thumps, screw reversal clicks etc come from what source. The whole mechanical mechanism is a bit 'cut-price' and lets the otherwise nicely made machine down IMHO. I am thinking of an upgrade to replace the whole Z slide with twin square rails. No irreversible mods required, can use existing blue parts. The leadscrew has a lot of backlash too, I am thinking about a simple spring-loaded brass/bronze anti-backlash nut so that each layer is more likely to be precisely the right thickness. I looked at ballscrews but it seems in tiny sizes and pitches like this there is still some backlash, but I suppose very expensive fully ground ones might have some preload. I'll let you know how I get on, I have ordered the bits...(Nut, Slides, Al Plate etc). ANY COMMENTS on the Z Leveller idea? The screws would be tight in the base, spin the thumb-nuts up to touch the underside of the top plate and tighten nuts above....that's the plan.

And a another amazing print, had to do it as two parts which is annoying (phrozen shuffle xl here I come) the bit doesn't have sooo much intricate details as my other weapons but the smooth pod is a challenge itself - and omg no layees what so ever!
