I wish there were a more affordable 3d scanner that works well.

Hello everyone.
So, I got my printer last Friday and spent the weekend printing like crazy. Except I've had problems with it and I need your expertise.

First print came up fine (a small Millennium Falcon). After the print I cleaned everything up and returned the resin back to its bottle with the filter.
Second print didn't stick to the removable tray, so I cleaned it again and readjusted the Z=0 using the paper method.
Third print worked, 4 miniatures.
4th print didn't take again, managed to salvage 2 miniatures, now with partial legs.
5th print was the same as 4th, but nothing stick again, this time no salvaging.

Up until the 3rd print I used full supports, automatically, at 30% density. For 4th and 5th I used 20% density, but didn't change any other setting.

Every print was done with a clean vat and tray, with a shaken resin, in a closed up room, with ventilation.

My one concern is the fep film that's getting a bit cloudy in between cleaning but I read around that that was to be expected.

Any tips?

(Pic is from the 4th print, you can see the bases are half done, as is their legs)

Hi all.

I have been using my Photon for a while now and have some amazing success but since moving to the Monocure resins, I have found it to be very hit and miss. I have tried increasing exposure times and base layers, but nothing seems to be consistently successful.

Can anyone suggest or provide a Photon file that they know works with the Monocure white or black resin? I just need something that I know 'should' work with this printer & resin, so I can focus on calibrating the hardware.

Thanks :)

Finally found a ring I want to wear. So printed on my Photon and now painting it. I think it’s going to be great. I normally can’t buy most rings as I have extra large fingers.

I had something very strange happen today and it is actually the second time it has happened in the past month. I printed something that took an hour or so. When it was done, there was nothing on the platform and there was no cured resin at the bottom of the tray. I don't know how that can happen. The UV light was coming on because I could see it through one of the little gaps in the frame. The layers were showing up on the LCD screen. The only thing that seems possible is that the LCD mask just didn't let any light through. Even though the display LCD was showing the current layer, the LCD mask was not. That's the only explanation I can think of.

Note that I always use four base layers and I always wait until I hear the peel on at least the first couple before I walk away. In this case, obviously, I heard no peel, but I didn't stop the print because it was the very first time I was using a new resin. After it failed, I literally just restarted the print and it worked fine (after verifying there was no cured resin anywhere).

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has seen this happen.
