Quick question, will 91% Alcohol work for cleaning? I can’t find anything higher in my area. Also how many uses can you get out of the alcohol? Is it one model and done or can I do 2-3 at a time with one batch of alcohol?

My quest for a usable print continues... anyone know what this is about? The top layer of the raft is peeling off and subsequently misaligns everything as it prints.

Tldr version: Ali Express is majorly jacking up the retail price on USA warehouse shipments which seems shady to me.

So I found out something that is a little disturbing to me about Ali Express. The retail price of the Photon is supposed to be $539 as I understand it (approx.) And the sale that is about to start on Ali Express says it will be 26% off.

Problem is, the retail price for the USA warehouse on Ali Express shows as being $670!

Well, if you choose the USA warehouse with a USA plug you get the discount but it is on that $670 price, not the retail price that it should be.

If it was on the CORRECT retail price then the printer would be about $399.99 with free shipping via ups.

But with their over inflated price, it should come to about $496 (only about $40 or so cheaper than amazon.)

Of course if you want to order from China then you get the correct price but you have to pay about $103 for shipping it the USA and then have to deal with customs so you are back to $500+. And no, you don't get free shipping to the USA from china even though the website says that before the checkout process.

Doesn't seem right to me that the price for the USA is so high only on Ali. Even the Anycubic website shows it as $539. Maybe I have something wrong here but something seems off. Thoughts?

well sadly, but fairly... It looks like the monocure coupons are only good for one use per household. I tried using the mono25off again and it came back invalid :( But the other coupons work. Hopefully I can use the 25% off coupon again down the road. :)

I’m thinking of ordering some monocure rapid resin. Either grey or gunmetal grey. Are they just different colors, or do they have different physical properties?

My LCD is bad, and only after about 5 weeks! Verified numerous black spots and other "wear spots" on the UV Detection test.

This is just intolerable! 5 months of printing? Sure. 5 weeks? That's complete BS. Last 6 print attempts have failed, and it's costing me valuable time.

Further, I sent an email to the Amazon support rep (tina@anycubic3d.com) at Anycubic three days ago with no response! Seriously?

In the mean time, I'm tempted to try a spare LCD screen I have for a similar printer, but I'm worried about voiding the alleged 1 year warranty.

I've been a huge cheerleader for the Photon, but now, I find it difficult to recommend to anyone to purchase the Photon.

Something MUST be done about these sub-standard, crappy LCD screens. I can see skimping on non-critical parts, but the LCD screen is an integral part of the system. It may be "consumable", but a part that can cost quite a bit can't be expected to fail this soon. It just can't. And, if that IS the expectation and is part of your business model, I submit that you won't be in business long.

My suggestion? You send every single owner of the Photon a FREE LCD SCREEN, of acceptable manufacture, at zero cost to the owners.

Rant over. I need a new LCD, when can I expect it?

Hey, everyone. I took this picture and thought you might find it interesting. On the left is my version of a "Riddler Trophy" from the Batman Arkham City video game printed in the Anycubic sample resin. On the right is the same model from Shapeways in Frosted Extreme Detail (now called "Smoothest"). I wasn't expecting the Anycubic one to be so much smoother. You can hardly see the layers. I'm so glad I bought this thing!
