I find there's something so therapeutic about having a printer work perfectly first try after giving it a service. New FEP and cleaning of the build plate assembly and the print is stuck on beautifully.

I got over it once I realized that the likelihood of a print failing is SO LOW - unless you changed resins or something got knocked around somehow. I've printed like 30 times in a row and still haven't had to change anything since my first successful print. But that first print...man....I was sweating

Ryan Shelvik yeah, catastrophically failed prints seem rare. A support popping off and ending up with a crap print isnt unheard of, but ending up witb a knackered fep seems rare

A look at the newest printing project so far and a comparison between anycubic maroon and monocure grey. The grey us using the best settings i managed. The back of it (where the supports are) is just a blobby mess and the front has about 1/3 the detail. Now ive got to orger more resin cause I've run out of the anycubic stuff.

Hey all, ive already post a couple of times about this but i thought i would get more opinions (thus may be a little long). I decided i was going to use up the rest of my anycubic maroon and do a comparison with the monocure grey. The differences are really stark. The maroon has so much more detail, sharp edges and zero warping. The grey has blurry detail, soft edges and is very warped where the supports were. This happens no matter the settings i use. Unless there is something drastically wrong that I'm doing my conclusion is that the monocure resin is just a bit shit. This is really frustrating as i have 5 litres of the stuff.

Hey guys, ive been using the calibration tool and I've encountered an issue. When i go to use the gcode to turn it back to print mode i get an error massage that reads "file type not supported". Now im stuck with a photon in test mode. So my question is, wat do?

Hey all, i thought i might turn to the group for this. Ive been trying for the better part of a week trying to expose this resin properly. Im using monocure rapid grey. Ive tried 8, 9, 11 and 14 second exposure and the result is always the same. Blurry detail and warping that looks like it's being stretched away from the supports. It's as if the printer isnt curing each layer properly, despite the UV leds and the LCD functioning correctly. I'm really reaching my wits end here.

In ylthe meantime while im preparing the titan files I hot started on some prints for my friends. These deathwatch bits are by far in a way the smallest and most detailed models ive printed on my photon. The camera on my phone cant get close enough to show off the detail but words like 'purge' and 'cleanse' are clearly legible.

I also decided to try and slow down the build plate movement in chitubox by half of what it usually is, and i think it really helped here.

Ive got my next-ish project in the works. Its gonna use a crap load of resin and take probably a couple months to print. So far im only able to reasonably fit 2 toes on the build plate. the results will be 100% worth it though.

Its great timing now that a few of my friends have titan level models too. Thanks to jimsbeanz on thingiverse for the free stl :D
