Help
I need to draw from you collective experience...

So.. a few weeks ago a failed print made a hole in the FEP.
I replaced it, and the first prints went fine..

BUT...

Today i found some cured resin under the tray again...
I checked the FEP and i could not see any holes
I took the vat out, cleaned it, and pured in some IPA to see if i could identify a small hole (IPA can fit through really small holes). But again i found nothing..

Is it possible to have a leak without a hole? Might it be that the resin is forced out on the sides?
The fep seems a lot thigher than before i changed it.. might that cause a leak some way?

There could be a small puncture that normally is not visible, but when the build plate comes up to pull a layer free of the FEP is revealed. There is a lot more tension on the FEP when the build plate pulls at it.

Question:

I have been printing with skin, translusent red and translucent green for a while, having no issues... Then i tried a completly clear resin...

"PrimaCreator Value DLP Resin Clear"

>>I printed a small miniature with a base attached.

>>I used the default Photon Slicer

>>I used the autogenerated LIGHT supports for the platform. The rest of the supports was placed manually.

>> Ive used the default exposure time-settings in the slicer as they worked perfectly with the skin, red and green resins... So my understanding on how changed settings work is limited to common sense..

The miniature turned out perfect; no detail was lost and everything printed as expected.

BUT..

The supports under the base had merged into a solid piece (making the base a few mm higher..

So i was wondering: Which setting can i use to avoid this with a clear resin?

>> my common sense solution is to use heavy suppports for the base, lifting it higher to avoid the bug.. Or to just tip the model on its back (which i dont whant to do as it was modeled to print upright) but both these seems like a work-arounds and not a solution

So... using the Photon slicer i CAN place the base og the supports outside the printable are grid...

But what will happen if i do so?
Will it just be ignored and everything will to well?
Or will my print fail?
Or will the Photon explode or catch fire?

Resin printed toys?
Are they toxic child killers or harmless fun?

The Internet just confused me so i figured asking here was better...

I think my new photon my have a problem...

I unpacked it last week and allready im out of resin....

Im starting to believe i should have started with more than 1,5 liters:P

Also.. my Photon infected all my previous prints (made with an old DaVinici machine) with "looks-like-shit"-disease.. So i cant print with the DaVinci machine anymore :(

On the bright side i might name my next child "Photon" :P
