hello collective minds. Need some advice on 3d tools for prepping prints on my photon.
I'm working on an architectural print and some of the parts are only .05 thick, which isn't going to hold up while printing. I could go in an manually edit them but this would take 100s of hours I'm sure. Is there any tool, or method in the common tools (meshmixer, etc) that can auto scan the model and make any walls or planes double the thickness?

A very specific ask I'm sure, and I cant share the model due to legal limits but there's something similar to a fire escape (old style) and the metal plating is whats failing the most as it's only x thick and wont hold up to even a hair's worth of pressure when printing.

thanks in advance.

Not so much a print question, more of a sourcing one. I see there is a windows app to use the Kinect as a 3D scanner.

Has anyone tried this? Would love to make some photorealistic prints of people.

Easy to fix (work around) but I’m wondering if this is entirely user error on my part and I don’t really understand what I’m doing or if something janky happened.

Basically the “S” is mirrored. I can mirror the entire model and reprint but as hard as I try to wrap my head around it I’ve never seen my Photon do this.

Sliced in Chitubox, ran through Validator. Printer is on FW 4.2.19.
Chitu Machine set to: LCD_mirror.

Guess I’m going to have to paint this one as Bizarro Superman...

Hey group. Just wondering about I’ve lights and curing as I always seem to be doing my prints in the middle of the night. Found someone local selling the linked UV lamp below. It says full spectrum 380-760nm.
Will this work? And any perceived downsides? The price is decent so I’m really interested but don’t want to get either a useless lamp or one that will ruin my prints.

Asking for pics if anyone has them of two models with clear or trans-green resin side by side with one solid and one hollowed out.

This may be a lazy ask as I could just test but I’m really curious about how it compares visually. I want to do some specific translucent models (large) and I know the solid will give the exact look I want but don’t understand how the Hollows will refract light.

Thanks!

Newb SLA printer user. Experienced FDM user. Hoping you all could help give some insight.

First few models printed fine. Zero real calibration (real/in-depth... I just did the basic user guide setup). No issues, then I dive in head first and try to print a max size model. Images below. The supports under the model print perfectly. Entire “stand” of the dragon model, does not connect and lays in the vat for 10 min curing before I notice.

Everything cleaned ok and the film seems fine but the base didn’t appear to stick to the supports at all. Any suggestions?
