Finally finished printing and painting Stationeers rover. Wasn’t exactly smooth sailing, as I haven’t built any model kit for about 30 years, but still an ok-ish attempt, I reckon. :-) Edit: And just in case someone is mad enough to try their own, I just got permission to upload the source files to Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3973100/ 翻譯年糕

Was printing out some accessories for my astronaut. I really didn’t expect the drill bit to print. ?
Edit: So I picked up my courage and very carefully measured it. It’s 0.39mm thick.

Just a relatively quick paint job on a rifle I made for our game. ? Photon S, Anycubic green.

Just modeled and printed a tiny Om Nom for our little boy. It's about 3.5cm and I know I did a terrible job on the paint-job. But boy is happy. Photon S and 1:1 mix of translucent green and white resin. Printed on standard settings for the Anycubic white. If you want to print your own, feel free to grab the model: https://skfb.ly/6O6zS

The Mars rover from Stationeers is slowly taking shape. I might’ve overdone the number of parts though. It’s over 70. :-D

Welp. Let my example be warning to others. I just printed quite a big part of my model three times and by my own stupidity ruined the first two. First I was curious how’s the print doing and paused the print. But the pause button didn’t seem to react so I pressed it, like the idiot I am, several times. It did stop the print. But also confused the printer, so after I resumed the print, it started “printing” in the air, hanging several centimetres above the vat. Oh well. I removed the 2/3 finished print, found few supports that were too close to the object and fused with it. Oh well, at least I could fix that. I moved supports, sliced in ChituBox, checked layers, exported and let print overnight. In the morning I found the “finished” print, missing almost exactly the same bit like the one I interrupted. I found out that if you export sliced object from ChituBox while checking your layers, the print stops at the layer you were checking! Oh well, resliced, reexported and third time was the charm. So in conclusion, don’t press the pause button ten times in a row and always finish the layer check.

Ok, this happened several times, and I’m kinda baffled, as I haven’t seen anyone complaining about similar issue. This is Anycubic white resin and I can’t get the settings right I guess. What happens is that while the bottom part of the print is usually more or less perfect, the top part, where the supports are, is all... “melty”. Almost like if I printed out of wax and then melted one side with a blowtorch. On the picture the top of the helmet has the tiny screws visible, while the bottom key almost disappeared. I tried different angles, different times, but it’s always there. Any ideas what is it I’m doing wrong?

Anyone’s else Proton really sucks at estimating print time? It usually guesses way longer than it actually prints. On longer prints it seems to off by even couple of hours.

I’m currently printing and I can hear quite loud “thump” every time the layer separates from the FEP film. It’s not suction, because object has a relatively small area. Any ideas why that is? The part of the model that I can already see seems to be fine, but I’m afraid tinier pieces won’t have much luck. Cleaned the vat and leveled just before the print.

Note to myself - when pouring out the remaining resin from the vat, close the blinds. Even indirect, scattered New Zealand sunlight in the room is strong enough to nearly instantly harden it. Had to use the scraper to get it out. :-P
