So running resin printers for a month now. 8 Units total. 7 Anycubic Photon S and 1 Elegoo Mars. I have learned a lot. I have been printing with FDM machines for 18 months and this resin world is very different but the same.

In the resin world I have seen some very odd stuff and some very cool ideals.

I need to say is that both worlds are needed at the moment due to size and cleanup of work.

The resin world aka SLA printing it is a little messy and the resin costs a LOT. You can get GREAT results from these printers but they are small, BUT bigger ones are on they way as the price drops.

You need to watch yourself and protect yourself at all times. GLOVES..... CLEAN UP.... Resin can cause issues.

For us and when you dispose of....

Next compare the Anycubic Photon S to The Elegoo Mars.

PROS

Anycubic Photon S

Bigger Z

A Little Faster

Elegoo Mars

Easier Bed Level System

Great Price

Adjustable feet on the printer for better machine leveling

I think the Build plate is better and prints come off easier.

CONS

Anycubic Photon S

Plastic Plastic Plastic

PRICE

Elegoo Mars

Very Loud Fan

You have to remove the WHOLE Cover off the printer

The USB jack is in the back and not a great connection

The power switch is in the back

Smaller Z height but unit is Taller.

Both units are Great machines it will come down later to Customer service and so on for choice change.

I have used both Anycubic and Elegoo Resins in both machines and no issues.

These style machines make great additions to you FDM machines or by themself.

Next when you buy a curing lamp aka UV lamp make sure your lamp is 405nm and not the others styles like 365/368 and so on. Those lover nm units will take longer to sure and might cause you issues.

But to All Good Luck Printing and HAVE FUN.

Thanks

please feel free to add to this or ask questions.

This is just my info.

Hello everyone!
I've got a problem with my lcd-screen (I think). Everything was good before. Last print was 3-4 weeks ago. And this time I got a brick of resin instead of my pretty tabletop miniatures.
The test doesn't show the rectangule.
Found some other test on github but everything also failed.
Already wrote to anycubic support, but maybe someone knows how to fix this.
Thanks in advance.

So the master table of suggested times is based on the Photon, yes? And since the Photon-S has potentially "stronger" UV source one should not be surprised if shorter exposure times than those in the chart produce a good print on one's Photon-S?

Taking a break from "playing" with prints and running the R_E_R_F.pws file with the resins I bought. So far, found that I get a good print with AC-Black at about 20% less exposure than that suggested in the Google Sheet. Doesn't seem like much but just pondering the Google Sheet and if it should add a column to indicate Photon vs. Photon-S. I notice the submission form does distinguish between printers.

Hey all, I'm super new to all this! And what I want to use my anycubic photon for is 28mm models.

Although I'm scared I'll damage it, can someone or any of you in general give me any advice before I start printing. I've watched videos all day but feel like you guys maybe able to offer some advice. I'm a noob so what settings should I have or things I should do. I have the safety down gloves and clothing and ventilation. Just now need the practical stuff.

Thanks guys and girls ☺️

I have now been printing scale models to nearly perfection for a long time with only minor problems. Suddenly I have started having trouble with printing reliably. As you see in the pictures, the print stops after about 5 mm for parts of the models, then continues later on and somewhat made an almost OK print.

In this print, it stopped for the support on about half the model, while the rest of the model printed fine. On other prints, only the raft printed. However, yesterday I suddenly had a perfect print again.

I have printed 15 of the without problems earlier, so I know the settings and support works. I have tried with Siraya Tech Blu, Prima Light Grey and Prima Black.

I have also tried three different firmware version, 4.2.5, 4.2.19 and 4.2.11.

The files are sliced in ChituBox V1.5.0

Do you know what the problem might be? I ordered a new Photon a little while ago, so I will soon have a (hopefully) working printer, but the plan was to have two printers. I was thinking about fram shearing, but I haven't read enough about it to know if that is the problem here.
