Just wondering if there's a good reason for me to take off the sticker cover to the windows on the photon, I've taken the clear one off but the other 2 I have left because I want to keep uv Ray's out as much as possible and don't need to look through them. I was thinking that maybe they would suck up resin fumes and light on fire or something I might just be paranoid.

I've seen people having leveling issues. I haven't had any major ones, aside from loose screws.
Just in case, I machines an entire section to allow for each corner to be leveled.
I know there are stl files out there to make an adapter, I just wanted something that would last as long as my printer.
Just need to source some longer metric stainless bolts and I'll be set just in case I really need it.

Resin printed Troglokhan, details did not come out as crisp on this one compared to the Archer that was printed in the green resin. Not sure if it's the grey resin or the settings I used. What's worse is that his left leg has some wicked artifact all the way up the shin... not sure what happened there but I'll slice the file again and check to see if its present in the preview. I may reprint these segmented to avoid so many supports in some areas, but this is how I learn.

So I just got my Photon and I saw lots of people have modified it to get rid of the smell. I decided to make my own mod and thought I would document it for you guys and gals.

First I bought a simple bathroom fan ($10) and a plastic wall attachment ($7) for flexible plastic tumbler hose. I also bought long hose clamps to fix the plastic hose to the fan and wall attachment. For the fellow Danes here, I bought it at my local "Jem og fix" hardware store.

I already had some plastic hose left from our old dryer.

I removed the cover from the bathroom fan and was pleasantly surprised to find the part normally hidden by the cover (where the suction occurs) could easily attach to the plastic hose.

Now I mounted a powercord to the fan. I will add an on/off switch to the powercord for easier operation later.

I then unscrewed the black ventilation panel from the Photon and used a sharpie to mark the size and mounting holes onto the wall attachment plastic piece.

With an angle grinder I to cut off excess plastic and then I drilled the holes.

Then I mounted the original black ventilation panel from the Photon the "wrong" way, so the ventilation fins stick into the Photon. I checked to see that nothing would hit them and it looks safe enough. This way it lets the plastic hose attachment sit flush with the Photon case. You could also leave the panel off, but this way the panel will not get lost and it's very easy to reverse the mod.

After that I used hose clamps to put it all together. I used a 7mm top to turn the hose clamps as I think this is much easier than using a screwdriver. I cut the excess clamp to length and bend it below itself so the sharp cut edges will not be a problem. You could also just use a file.

Now it's done and I just have to put the long hose out the window when I print and turn on the fan.

When do you guys think is the best time to remove the supports, before or after UV curing? and why?

So far I found it best to remove them before UV curing because they are more flexible (gummy like) and I do not risk to rip off chunks from the piece itself.
I would like to hear other options aswell and the reson behind the motive.

Not completely photon related - but Chitubox.

I've been having failed prints in the last 2 or 3 weeks, and its looking like when I slice a print in chitubox, theres a handful of layers where the layer is just gone. The layer is there prior to slicing, but if I go through layer by layer after its been sliced, theres just a huge chunk missing.

I'm using the most up to date version of Chitubox. Is there another slicer that you would recommend? Or a way to keep Chitubox from doing this? Is this an issue with my computer/graphics card that could possibly be causing the issue?

I've included the screenshot of the supports prior to slicing (just frickin autosupports for the sake of the screen shot... I wasn't going to do all the work again just for it to not work.) and the screenshot after slicing. The slice prior to this was missing half of the print bed for 5 or 6 layers! This one was for only a small amount.

Suggestions on how to fix this or what different slicer to use?

Is this "Brasil" Photon category on aliexpress suspicious? Its much cheaper than the others?

PS. its official aliexpress Anycubic store; also there are all warehouses available for Europe
EDIT - It rises once you add shipping costs, but still it reaches 210$ ?
