Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on here. I've never posted before but I've done hours upon hours of research and reading and yesterday set up my Photon and my first print was more than a success! Everything went perfectly. I'm getting really frustrated. I haven't had a print work in over two liters worth of prints. Either I try to avoid supports and my prints work at the cost of detail loss via "elephant foot" of the bottom layer, or I use supports and the prints fail.

The little gray dice shows the elephant foot (right side), the rest are of a dice holder print that stuck both to the build plate and the fep. I was considering moving away from the anycubic slicer to try another program, but I thought I'd post some fails to see if anyone thought it was a settings problem first.

I just reset my z so I feel it's pretty level, and I bought vibration absorbing pads to try and further reduce failure, I totally filter and wipe the fep after every failure and shake up the resin before each print.

I'm running out of ideas here. ?

Hi guys.

I'm hoping to get some advice as far as supports go. I started this print. Failed because I missed my alarm to add more resin...

I did still pull the print and clean it up just to learn from it. Clipping that many supports was painful. I just used chitubox support defaults.

Could a print this large have succeeded with less supports?

Also I went with hollowing to 3mm walls. The print that came out is extremely sturdy. Would you have gone with thinner walls?

I am thinking for the next attempt that I will cut each piece in half horizontally so that I can have the majority of supports on the flat faces.

Only my third print but I am amazed at the quality I'm getting from this printer.
