Need some advice. Trying to print this huge piece. Tried it earlier but it failed before the supports could even be printed. I was using 50% heavy support density shown below. I'm now thinking about using 75% density with .8 or 1.0mm top diameter and 1.2mm lower and bottom diameter. I can't put a raft in because it's outside the build volume and I fear it still wouldn't print. This orientation and oriented the opposite way, vertically down, are the only orientations I can print in. The part is just too large to print any other way. Any suggestions?

Also, yes, I've considered printing it in 2 smaller parts but I'd then I might lose some detail and the top surface has be completely smooth (joint-wise speaking). Printing in two would result in a ragged joint. I've printed a different part in 2 sections and that was the result. Also resulted in a wavy surface on 2 sides, much moreso on the bottom surface close to the build plate.

For ChiTuBox V1.2.0 - In the PRINT dialogue Is Bottom Light-off Delay the same as Light-off Delay? I didn't see that variable in our docs-google file. Setting it up to print my first sculpture using the anycubic green at .02 layer height.

Thinking about finally venturing away from Anycubic Green to an opaque resin. I mostly print miniatures at 6mm-8mm scale, or 28mm scale. Anecdote seems to show that Monocure Rapid Grey or Gunmetal Grey would be the preferred resin, but I'm open to suggestions.

Also, I'm curious about the differences between opaque and translucent resins in terms of final product. My gut feeling would tell me that an opaque resin would have better detail on the build plate end, since translucent resins would let additional light seep through the model itself, curing those plate layers more over time, but I could also be a total idiot for thinking that.

Question for the group....

My photon is on its way to me, but I'm concerned about fumes.

Is there any reason not to cut a hole in the case of the printer and attach a small fan and ductwork to create negative pressure inside the printer and extract fumes out he duct? I'm thinking a 60mm or 80mm computer fan.

I'd like to be able to use it in the living room. I have a nice work desk set up with my fdm printer on it and space for the photon too

Okay I can actually see this one from here.
It's funny this was one of the first things I tried to 3D print two years ago when I bought my Anet 6.
I've printed it maybe 20 times and I have been able to get really good prints at 0.2 tip but I can see the resin printer is the way to go even so by the time it's done it will be filament print ready to a resin redy also because I know not everyone will buy a resin printer.
And it makes sense to make a print for the resin printer as well as for the filament printer.

About to give this dragon a go... unless you see anything weird that I missed in the supports. :) Now I just need to pull the resin numbers for anycubic green.
