Hi everyone,

I am thinking about buying the Photon, but am hesitant due to a few reasons.

I am mainly interested in making functional parts so have these concerns:

1. Are there any good resins on the market with performance characteristics similar to PLA, ABS, or PETG? Or are they all very brittle?

2. Does anyone know how long prints can last when used outside? (Does extended UV affect them negatively?)

3. Is the first layer flush with the rest of the print, or does it "elephant foot" at the bottom?

Hey guys - my second print with Nova3d failed. I was using 12 sec and 80 sec bottom layers. One arm seemed to come out ok, the other, the fingers are jacked up. They we're oriented the same way basically with the fingers pointing down. I'm new at the photon so I'm hoping some of you have some ideas of where I can start troubleshooting settings, etc. Thank you in advance for your time.

Ha sanyone here experienced random Z Motor failure? No codes, no warning, just Z stops driving and the print resumes until completed, yet the print has stopped going up or down. When completed, Z motor can be moved manually, and after the motor functions fine, i have had this happen 4 times in 10 prints on a brand new machine less than 3 weeks old.

Test for new plate, how much bonding with resin.
100 micron layer
new alu plate milled and anodized black
I only replaced the original plate, the total height of the plate is like the original one, no original Z reduction. No just milling and then black anodizing.

Guys just want to ask some questions.Can we replace FEP film entirely with different product such as glass?.Or can we use plastic resin vat?Since FEP is a wear and tear product and unfortunately it easily get damaged when the print stick entirely with the FEP film during print failure.
