I have the MMU2S from Prusa and have the idea to mount it on my Atom 2.5. The MMU is a multi-material selector that can manage up to 5 different filaments. This means that you could build a part in 5 different materials. Or use some special filament as for support that can be desolved by water or limonene. Using different materials will ask different temperature management as other parameters linked to the material. Does anyone though about this and build it on his Atom-printer? Any information is welcome. I think the software, firmware is the big question.

I have an issue with the auto bed leveling cycle. This issue came suddenly after and in between a range of identically printed parts. I adjust the screw under the sensor but still have the same result. At the begin of the fourth row the nozzle is pushed in the bed. I have to stop it by turning the machine off. I can't find out what I should analyze to get this issue solved. I also checked the most of the screws, the rims and their tension, the ball joints. I also set the machine to a restore fail save. But nothings helps. What can it be, is anyone here having the same problem and solved it.

Remove the spring when you do bed leveling, and assembled it back after bed leveling.

I didn't had this before and the bed or the glass plate can't be placed in another way. For the spring, I don't think that the spring doesn't do its work, it is as the steppers don't move in equilibrium to each other. Can the voltage change on the drivers of the steppers. I once calibrated them to 0,4V because they had a different tension each.

Please try to remove this spring first, then do the bed leveling again, this is main reason what cause atom nozzle error move, I had experienced before and it is not happened only on me, but also many atom owners, so do it and see what will it happens!

Hi Marx, why is Atom not redesign it without the spring? I should have done it in another way, because the sheet metal part on the head is being deformed by the executed pressure on the nozzle. I think that this is also the reason why the leveling is c hanging each time. It should be constant, but with this design it isn't possible. Deformation is a real fact, also the pressure isn't the same allover the bed. This point and each point next to the guides are very strong in pressure.

Hey Martial Geudin, to be honest this is old problem in Atom 2.5EX version, and I don't know why they let this exists till now, you can try searching " bed leveling " in group, it will shows tons of same issues with your situation now.
It was a good machine and good group here, but now a lot different.

to be honest, no machine is really good, we are dealing with a new technology, even it is 25 years old. many have tried to make something better, but still running into the same problems. You need a good industrial designer to analyze and improve this techniques. I am following this domain since the beginning, good machines are expensive and still having issues. So there is a lot potential in this market but with lots of competences. And we have to learn from what was already made to improve and build on it.

My old Atom 2 was and still is a fantastic machine! I bought 2 AtomEx2.5's and have had nothing but problems with bed levelling issues etc. Both my AtomEx 2.5's have the exact same problems including other random issues like print shifting half way th rough a large print for no apparent reason. My old custom built prusa and a couple of modded Makerbot2's also never fail me even after several years of constant use doing full volume print after print. So yes there are good machines in my experience.... But everyones mileage varies I guess.

How is support on it then? On the printers and spare parts? Thanks again

Per Andersen As Sean Thompson said, atom 2.5EX is a fantastic machine, reasonable price, I had have it from Version 2, and ungraded to 2.5EX except the bed leveling problem I had, not to much problem happened.

It was good enough but it didn't move on since version 2.5FX, it has been a while...
