Following on from my Twin Rail Z Slide Upgrade for the Photon, I have been busy making one for the Elegoo Mars. Like the Photon version, it makes the Z Axis very rigid, so eliminates Z wobble and enables accurate repeatable printing, even if the model is not central on the build plate or has small 'suction cups' (open volumes with no air vent at the top). I made a video showing more about it... https://youtu.be/1uB8rY_H-Zg 翻譯年糕

I wondered what fibre size could be printed on a Photon. On the left the filaments are 0.5mm dia and 0.4mm on ths right. Both are 15mm tall plus the base. They can be 'styled' with a comb and hair-drier to a limited extent. So minis need no longer be bald... There is a lot of spring-back but if the fibres are held flexed until cool they stay at about 8mm radius. I tried a hot air gun but it causes breakage....premature hair loss!

I would be grateful for some help please. I am unsure how to disable the deck filter fan in my Photon Classic using GCode. I think, from what I have read here, that I should use M8030 T0 followed by M8500 , but how, like this?
Select this as a file to 'print' from a USB stick? Filename: Fanoff.nc (Photon Classic Turn Deck filter fan off) M8030 T0 M8500 (Saves configuration)
Two things I am unclear about though.... The configuration code from Photonsters says T-0 not T0 The photonsters code lists M8030 for the LED fan and Motherboard fan,(which I suppose is the one I think of as the deck filter fan) so it seems this short code is ambigious?
Photonsters code is here... https://github.com/altLab/photon-resin-calibration/blob/master/resin-xp-finder/print-mode.gcode
Thanks for your help 翻譯年糕

A WIP batch of PCB test jigs, with many Photon-printed parts. All were printed direct on the build plate, and the little Relay Retainer Nest things were a surprise to me, in that I forgot to stand them off the plate, and even though they are closed cups for part of their height, they printed just fine with no distortion. With the Twin Rail Z Slide Upgrade I can rely on getting predictable usable technical parts....(except when I mess up....ooops).

Twin Rail Z Slide Upgrade for Standard Photon. I thought people might be interested to know why I made the extrusion such an odd shape (see end view picture showing 'wings' ringed in red). It is to maximise the footprint on the top plate of the Photon and to bridge over the original column's machined socket which is a bit small and may have bruises. Some or all of the original columns are not machined at the ends but are hand-linished instead, therefore not very flat and possibly not precisely vertical on the deck. The back of the upgrade column is machined flat to make a datum surface for precision CNC machining the bedways and end faces in one setup. The MGN15H type slides are micro pre-loaded to eliminate free play.

Anybody tried a dental scaler with a sharpened tip for cutting off supports? There are Ultrasonic types at about 75GBP and up, and Pneumatic heads only for about 25GBP (+ 6.5GBP for a connection hose), requiring about 3bar air. I saw a video of someone who sharpened the tip of a piezo model and it seemed to work pretty well, but they are only about 20W compared to 40W or so for a pukka ultrasonic craft knife.

Hi all....Vent Holes in build plate? It looks like some other DLP printers have perforated build plates. Is this to vent closed-sided parts where the top and bottom faces are open, allowing them to be built direct on the build-plate without side-holes....or what?
