Apart from printing Yoda's, Benchy's and other models, I was wondering if anyone out there uses their Photon for creating more unusual, or even commercial products?

I appreciate that unlike the FDM printers with multiple filament types, the resins are a little more restrictive, but am sure there still some interesting alternative uses for the output from these machines.

Is there an minimum working temperature for Photon and resins?

Hi. If I buy the Photon, the only practical place for it to live is in the loft space, where I currently have an extractor fan that vents outside for my small burnout kiln. Obviously the loft space is unheated, so can be much cooler up there at times.

Does anyone know the actual working temperature range of the resins the Photon uses at all? With the fumes it produces, I'm obviously not looking to have it in the main house.

Thanks...

Still looking at getting a Photon, mainly for jewellery. Can someone give me a ballpark figure as to how long say six to eight rings on a build platform would take to print?

I currently mill wax on cnc prototype mills, but that can be real time consuming for things like rings.

Thanks....

Looking at Photon to produce jewellery rings only.

Question: How easy is it to sand off support sprues in both regular and casting resin. Also is there also a lot of post processing work to do other than sanding down where the supports have been?

Thanks..

Hi. I currently have Roland CNC machines I use to create wax masters in for jewellery. I also have a Cetus 3D filament printer which is brilliant but no good for jewellery.

This is a question specifically aimed at those that have used CNC machines with wax, but have had a go with the likes of the Anycubic Photon. What is the surface finish like. Is it ready to use for creating moulds, or does it need a lot of sanding to make it usable?

I have a great finish with my current setup, but some designs could do with a print in one go solution, rather than multi-sided machining to get awkward angles in. I like the look of the Photon, but have an aversion to lots of sanding down. ?

All help, advice and suggestions greatly appreciated. At the moment I would prefer a low cost solution like the Photon, to see how the process works out first.

Thanks....
