So, just a few minutes ago I ordered an Anycubic photon from Gearbest, using the big sale there. I also ordered 1kg of ELEGOO grey resin, plus W1209 thermostat and a 120W 12V heating pad to allow installation in the garage or on the balcony even in winter.

Any other things to get to start printing?

Hello fellow printers!

I have had my anycubic photon for about 2 weeks now and am absolutely impressed and in love with the machine. So far i have printed in the standard anycubic green resin that came with it, but i'm not looking for a proper resin.

I want to print miniatures for wargaming, but the anycubic green is way too brittle for that. I fear small details like swords and spears would snap off.

What resin would you recommend for tough but detailed prints?

Im trying to update the firmware on my Photon, and have prepared the .bin files on 3 different usb drives which the photon sees......but when i try to "print" the .bin file, i get an "unknown file format" message and the update does not begin. Have i missed a step? The only thing i havent tried is bypassing the usb extension and plug the usb directly to the board inside...

Hi guys ??

Im seeing a lot of Lithophanes being done, and its one of those things Ive always really liked the idea and look of, but never got round to doing.

Now Im ready to have a bash at my own, as I think they would make wonderful gifts, especially with the dreaded 'C word' fast approaching.. But I have a few questions, the main one being quite simply: How and where do you start??

Do they work with any colour? ( I mainly work with grey, but assume white is better due to being lighter? )

What settings are recommended?

I'll probably have more questions in due course, but one step at a time!!

Hi All, I am new in resin printing (I have not printed yet, still waiting for my photon) I am trying to adjust my designs to be easy to print in this type of printer.

I have divided the model in 3 parts (Tree, House and Base), if you print it please let me know if it works or please advice what would be the best way to split the mesh for resin print!

What happened here? I’m reasonably certain it’s not a support issue because some of the models that failed are support-less, and the others I inspected beforehand and was happy with. The resin is 75% Monocure Rapid Clear / 25% Monocure Flex. Print settings were 12s layer time at 0.04, which I’ve had success with in the past. Plenty of bottom layers (12 or 13 I think) with ~ 80s bottom layer cure times.

I can’t really think of what could have caused every model here to fail so catastrophically. The only thing I can think of is that I haven’t used the resin in a while so maybe it’s gone bad. The settings should be solid, because I got them from the google doc, but tell me if they’re wrong.

I was having frame shearing problems and when I updated the firmware my Photon’s screen started acting funny and not producing the rectangle when doing the UV detection. I opened a ticket with Anycubic and they sent me a new motherboard. I just installed the new motherboard and the lcd screen problem is still happening. Any ideas appreciated, thank you!
