First photon printed kit primed and sanded, and painted with simple two tone color scheme. Plan to fully paint a larger version so just leaving this as is. Lesson learned: priming and sanding can bring perfect smoothness to most surfaces. Base was printed using fdm.

So Chitubox doesnt seem to like this file. notice the hand, boot tips and inner eye sockets of the shoulder and knee skulls. there is geometry there but i think the darker area means the faces are reversed? either way it wont let me attack supports to certain parts and ive tried fixing via meshmixer but no luck. it either deletes geometry or adds weird artifacts and causes loss of detail. any advice from the hivemind?

Omg I had so much fun with my first day of (mostly failed ?‍♂️ ) printing!!! It’s so sweet to learn from the community and figure out the little tricks to make things work! Here is my most successful print so far:

I have an .stl of an object that has already been shelled / hollowed. I got the .stl from Pinshape, so I don't have the original design, just the downloaded, already hollowed / shelled .stl.

I want to scale the object down, but when I do, the walls of the shell become too thin to print. I'd like to "fill" or somehow make the smaller scaled .stl solid to eliminate the issue of the too-thin walls.

I have MeshMixer (along with MS 3D Builder), but I cannot figure out how to change the hollow interior into a solid.

I suppose what I am actually trying to do is delete the inner surface mesh leaving just the outside mesh (surface). But I cannot figure out how to select and delete this inner mesh. The object has no holes. It is a continous surface on the outside and a continous surface on the inside.

Can anyone suggest a way to do this?

Thanks!

Friendly reminder. There is a set screw on the red knob on the build plate. Check it periodically. As my build plate fell off. Luckily the screen survived.

Whats the largest model you'd print?

I'm trying to print Richter/Simon Belmont's Vampire Killer with this design

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3271813

I scaled it up to 2500% as instructed but it doesnt fit on the build plate.

I split the handle between two models and hollowed it out with 6mm thickness but I'm worried that no matter how many supports I use it's going to be too heavy.

Hey question for you guys
I'm getting delaminating artifacts in one of my photons, single layers floating in the resin or sticking to parts, it looks to me like maybe a raft layer or two are coming loose from the "long burn" raft layers.

I peered down at it during a print (in a vat of water) and I don't see any problems, the black look dark, looking at another printer it looks like its just as dark, I'm not sure it is the LCD dying on me.

Any thoughts?

Looking at the spreadsheet and don't see any reported times for Anycubic Plant Based Green. Does anybody happen to hae good settings for this resin they are willing to share?
