Hey guys. Seen a few posts lately from fellow aussies. Was wondering if people were interested in making a separate page or just a thread or something somewhere to share sources of resin and alternatives to products people use over seas and the like. Maybe just throw a comment on this and we will see what interest there is.

Switching to transparent resin:

I thought I had posted this earlier but I guess Murphy came along.

I have been printing gray resin but want to try some clear. Getting all the resin out of the vat is always a challenge. Should I just pour in some IPA and let it set for a while or wipe it out good and go?

FEP material. I ordered 3 ft of material from McMaster-Carr. used the part number I found on some group. I got the material. I did not have any protective material on any side. There was a roller mark about 8 to 10 inches down from one edge and tons of pock marks. There is no way I would consider using thing stuff. I called them and described what I got. They said, that is no good let me send you out 3 more feet. They did, looks better than the first chunk but still no protective coating, same roller marks and pits and pock marks all over. Maybe other have had better luck.

Another successful print! Angling the model took way longer, but no issues with suction or separation from the build plate.

Thank you all for the help!! Managed to not only get it all zeroed in correctly but (and ignore the fact that I cut supports wrong) I did a 30mm figure test as well that came out great!

Okay, so given my problems of the past few days with hardly anything sticking to the build plate, I've done the following:

- Changed out the FEP, the original of which had a divot in it
- Scraped dried resin off the screen, which was probably the cause of the divot
- Re-leveled multiple times
- Tinkered with the bottom exposure time (currently 70, ran resin test @100) and bottom layers (10-12).

Anycubic green, first few prints went fine. Shaken thoroughly every time from a bottle I opened yesterday.

Screen and FEP are now squeaky-clean, and once I got the mess cleaned off the screen and re-re-re-leveled I was hopeful and decided to print one of those resin calibration strips to see what my best exposure time would be... and it failed, left side dangling from the platform as it rose up, with hardly anything legible on it except the number 8 (though there were holes in the print above the 8...).

Could this happen from my FEP being too tight or too loose? Is there a better way to check its tightness than "it sounds like a drum"? If that's not it, I'm not sure what else to try.

I've managed to print a few minis, but only because if I put 4 into a .photon I can sometimes get one or two of them to print :p . The volume of resin I've thrown away dwarfs the amount that's sitting in miniature form waiting to be painted.

What can i do if the photon stopped in the middle of a print, and it said that it finished and now it doesnt let me move the platform to home or even up. I already tried: Turning it off and disconnect for an hour. Tried running the anycubic files (output update and g.code) but it says unknown file format, tried 3 different USB that work in my other photons. Thanks! 翻譯年糕
