Hi all, sorry if this has been talked about already. I just bought a photon two days ago and am new to this. I got hold of a 3D model of starbug 1 (from red dwarf) and would love to print it. I have it in sketchup but of course to print it I need it to have volume. To that end I ran a tool to detect errors but have no idea how to close the model to make it a printable solid. Any advice on quickish ways, other than building the model from scratch as a closed group?

Hi all guys....i have an issue a can’t understand this morning:

I have my photon inside my warehouse,saturday and sunday i shutdown allthing.....

I start the printing (i slice a series of files all togetger thursday) and the printer don’t work,or better say:

It start printing (the layer count go on,but the layer preview didn’t show anything,it remain blue) and the builddplate remain stationary at layer 1.

I try to re-slice,copy it to another usb key but nothing change....the only way was to re-level the bed and reset the 0 layer height.

Is something dimilar happened to somone of you?

Anybody tried a dental scaler with a sharpened tip for cutting off supports? There are Ultrasonic types at about 75GBP and up, and Pneumatic heads only for about 25GBP (+ 6.5GBP for a connection hose), requiring about 3bar air. I saw a video of someone who sharpened the tip of a piezo model and it seemed to work pretty well, but they are only about 20W compared to 40W or so for a pukka ultrasonic craft knife.

Getting to the limits. Not of the printer but my own ability to clean the prints. After cleaning some parts broke off like the cord between totoro and miyazaki. So think I will split the print up in parts and make it overall a bit bigger.
