You may have seen my recent post asking people's opinions as to what my next printer should be. I thought it might be simpler just to do a poll.
So if you were going to buy another resin printer, which of the following would you buy?

Has anyone run into Photon's slicer dropping layers on portions of your model's supports?

I took the following steps:
1) Orient model in Meshmixer
2) ChiTuBox automatic supports, plus a couple added manually
3) Export STL from ChiTuBox
4) Open in AnyCubic Photon slicer
5) Export photon file

In this process, several of my supports generate with dropped layers and I get 166 layers of "islands" in the Photon Validator tool. You can see them missing in the visualizer photo.

Going back to step four, opening in ChiTuBox nets me no dropped layers and 32 "islands". This one's visualizer looks fine.

The only difference is the application used to slice. I use the exact same STL with supports baked into the model. This is one example, but I have seen this on other models as well.

Any ideas, or is it time for me to abandon the AnyCubic slicer?

Hey all - noticed a weird pattern between my vat and the LCD. Pics below. Initially thought I must have installed the new FEP wrong and maybe I had a leak. I stopped the print and removed the vat and used a white cloth to while both the underside of the vat/FEP as well as the LCD. Nothing there. Could this be temp related, is it normal? Seems to be printing ok, I restarted the print. We'll see. Just wondering if others had seen that before.

Printed a vat cover with the filament printer... will do one of the more complex versions later. This one will do the trick for now.

The smallest wheels and tires i ever made.
6 mm wheels diameter.
9 mm tire diameter.

The detail on the tire threads is sick!

After 11 months of daily use, my Photon has started acting up. In the middle of a print, it just restarts. This is with an upgraded power supply that has been in service since July. I've swapped out usb drives and tried multiple .photon slices.

I'm considering a firmware flash. Thoughts?

Edit: by "restarts", I mean it just powers down, powers back up and sits at the home menu.

Got my new mainboard early... primary difference with the board in my 2017 photon is the DRAM... and the solder job on all the components is much cleaner all around...
