This has probably been done before, but here is a check list I came up with following your suggestions on trouble shooting.

Trouble shooting check-list, follow accordingly as deemed necessary:

➖ Level, level and re-level! (the proper way of course, see Flynt Read and Nick Williams videos).
➖ Dismantle and re-assemble photon to fix z wobble if there is one (follow Anycubic video and other YouTube videos)
➖ Disassemble, clean and reassemble build plate (anycubic video available)
➖ Replace fep with a brand new one and make sure it’s tight (anycubic video available)
➖ UV detection test (and know what you’re looking at ? )
➖ Replace LCD screen as needed (anycubic video available)
➖ Reformat new 4GB usb flash drive to Fat 32 (if you’re getting error messages)
➖ Only one, short and simple file name on usb flash drive
➖ Use recommended settings for the resin that you’ll be using
➖ Use appropriate orientation and support on your model and hollow if necessary
➖ Do a dry run to check if LCD is working and make sure there are no error messages
➖ Do a test print on a small test model before the big print
➖ Ask our FB group and call tech support
➖ Firmware update, only if recommended by Tech Support
➖ Pray ??

Any thing else I missed? Please feel free to add to the list.

Have people tried this brand? It’s a really good price compared to anycubic but not many reviews.

Hello all. I am new to this group, so please forgive me if this has been asked before.

I should be receiving my Photon printer today.

For incoming inspection I know to check the Z axis mounting, bearings, and fitment for any kind of backlash / wobble.

Also to check and clean both sides of the LCD, FEP film and UV reflector so there are no dust particles on any of them that could cause defraction of the light.

Once done I will level the bed.

Are there any other incoming inspection processes that need to be performed before running this printer?

Thank you all & Aloha ??
Brian

First attempt airbrushing something 3d printed with the photon. Im very proud of how realistic the paintjob came out for a first try of the airbrush. But the photon made a great Job in the details.

well well well....... the print turned out not too bad(just ignore the hole at his foot and not fully printed hand as it's my own fault) still have some Z artifacts on the print BUT a lot less than before, which made me think that it might be caused by suction this time so i'll have to add a vent hole on this model and print it again
//and add more support for his hands too lmao

My first print since the test cube (not getting much chance to investigate my printer at the moment sadly). Printed in Anycubic green with standard settings 0.05 10 1 50, sprayed with black primer. The resin used for this print had sat in the tank for about 2 weeks, I mixed and warmed it all before use.

From reading through other people's issues I'm guessing the layer lines are to do with the Z rod not being lubricated enough, I read that WD40 is the best thing to use? Otherwise, I'm annoyed with the pixel marks but am pretty happy overall. Trying a 0.20 print later today using the settings in the GoogleDocs file, after oiling the Z rod threads, using the same resin (now 3 weeks in the tank), not ideal, but necessary for the moment.

Someone was asking about voronoi, this is the grasshopper version, 2000 voronoi cells, over any given surface. Slow, but fast, depends on how you look at it.

Printed in Maroon after this mornings rebuild. Checking various angles for stray layer shifts. NADA. Happy little camper!
