What could cause this problem?
Julian Rodriguez 2020-03-31 10:22:37
Add a couple of seconds onto the base later
Michael Ray 2020-03-31 10:24:16
I think it needs more exposure
Don Mason 2020-03-31 10:25:49
I use 90 sec for my base layers
Ahmed Hebishi 2020-03-31 10:30:10
Increase curing or exposure time for base
Don Mason 2020-03-31 10:32:24
Might wanna increase the base layers as well.
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-31 10:37:35
My base layer exposure is set to 100, with 8 layers, I'm thinking by looking at how it separates i maybe need to add more layers
Bruno L'Archeveque 2020-03-31 10:39:12
Temperature maybe?
Charles Jackson 2020-03-31 10:40:03
Charles Jackson 2020-03-31 10:41:26
a little help please I hear bottom, base layers, looking at the picture
Charles Jackson 2020-03-31 10:42:24
would that be bottom exposure?
Angus Sanders 2020-03-31 10:44:15
Exposure level, stl file, plate, resin, you’re not providing enough information
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-31 10:48:51
These are the settings I'm using, and I'm using elegoo grey resin
Nicholas Storms 2020-03-31 11:13:41
I would double check that you are still level and you cleaned your base plate.
Anders Scot Hudson 2020-03-31 11:22:16
This looks about like what I'm using, I would say room temperature might be a factor. I have had similar happen when it's cold.
Michael Gorman 2020-03-31 11:24:23
Nathaniel Cooper normal resin or water washable?
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-31 11:34:38
I believe just normal resin, its Elegoo Grey
Pete Hess 2020-03-31 15:40:18
cold resin could cause that peeling
Radu Barbu 2020-03-31 21:05:21
ive notice this happen to me when the resin is about 20-22 if i get it abou8t 24-26 its all good also the leveling is very important
原文網址 Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 11:02:46
So after taking the print out and cleaning and removing the supports, I noticed theres all these lines on it, and I've never really seen these before on any of my prints, what could be the cause of this?
Denlee Paddy Rhodes 2020-03-25 11:05:10
I've been getting them on a few of my prints aswell tbh
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 11:06:10
yeah, i'm thinking its normal and i just never noticed them before since i haven't done a print this big that's flat
Thomas McConnell 2020-03-25 11:06:50
It's because the print is flat it's your layers
Denlee Paddy Rhodes 2020-03-25 11:06:56
Nathaniel Cooper aye, even when I angle some of my stuff I still get em
Thomas McConnell 2020-03-25 11:07:10
Good undercoating won't see them
Mark Rhodes 2020-03-25 11:07:27
Ive actually printed that exact head, its setting on my desk at work. Has lines as well.
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 11:08:42
yeah, i assumed it was normal, just figured i'd check in case it was a sign of a larger issue
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 11:08:48
good to know
Douglas Parkinson 2020-03-25 11:37:13
Where might I find those files? I've seen a few different models, of varying quality
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 11:39:09
PM me and I'll link the google drive to you
Douglas Parkinson 2020-03-25 19:19:13

Took some of your suggestions and now Success! Looks like it was the base layer exposure times, I love this printer and this group, you guys have been super helpful!
Cory Lautzenheiser 2020-03-24 22:40:32
Hey! Great to hear you’re getting good prints. It looks like you’re using the violet or pink plant based resin. I recently switched to plant based resin but my prints look a little goopy and im losing detail.. could you tell me your settings for prints? Thanks in advance!
Liam Newman 2020-03-24 22:52:06
Mine from a while ago, I havent had chance to reprint yet but I will as it's a bit warped but did for testing the scheme out
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-24 22:53:17
I'm just using eleegoo grey resin
Thomas McConnell 2020-03-24 23:34:38
Where's the file for the multipart warhound you can print on a photon ?
Chiewata 2020-03-25 00:00:38
i have same problem then i increase the base layer exposure to 90 all problem solved except that remove the print is tough ? ?
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 00:23:25
PM me later today and I can share it with you, I got it in a google doc from someone else
Denlee Paddy Rhodes 2020-03-25 02:53:01
Nathaniel Cooper dont suppose you could send me it aswell plse, I have 1 but it's abit dodgy, some of the parts don't load properly on my slicer
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 03:01:02
Yeah, just PM later, somewhere around 6ish PST I'll be home and at my PC then
Denlee Paddy Rhodes 2020-03-25 03:01:37
Nathaniel Cooper I'm in the UK lol, not sure when PST is lol
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-25 03:21:59
Pacific standard time, so like in 6-7 hours from now, lol

What could be causing the print to separate from the build plate? I'm certain that the plate is leveled properly
Liam Newman 2020-03-24 06:15:03
What's your bottom layer exposure?
George Bulte 2020-03-24 06:16:07
Raise base layer time, too low ambient temperature?
Nathan Madche 2020-03-24 06:17:50
Exposure level would be the next adjustment. also temp of the room and making sure the resin is mixed before starting the print
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-24 06:19:08
These are my current settings
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-24 06:19:20
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-24 06:20:15
Its inside so it shouldn't be ambient temperature I'd think, but I hadn't thought of mixing the resin between prints, I did shake the bottle before adding more though
Peter Ede 2020-03-24 06:20:47
my bottom is 100. Nothing peels
Hugh Jeriolas 2020-03-24 06:21:30
Up your bottom exposure to 90
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-24 06:22:37
Yeah I'm seeing people having their bottom exposures really high, I was just going off what I saw on the google doc,
Fred Bey 2020-03-24 06:27:24
I'd suggest taking the build plate apart and cleaning the ball joint. Resin in there makes it super easy for the plate to shift during printing. Which looks like what you have.
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-24 06:28:25
What should I clean it with? And how can I tell for certain if that's the case, it seems to be level and I haven't had any issues with it before
Fred Bey 2020-03-24 06:31:58
Use whatever you use to clean your prints. I use IPA. You can put the plate back on, without the vat, and check the level with a piece of paper. See if all 4 corners have the same resistance. If they do, you're good. If not, take that sucker apart. It's easy, and only takes a few minutes. If you fill the resin above the top of the plate with the 4 head heads showing, then you have resin in your ball joint.
Leonardo Escovar Quintero 2020-03-24 06:44:54
Maybe adjust closer your first layer height can help too
Liam Newman 2020-03-24 06:47:01
Nathaniel Cooper 100 seconds is what I also use, since i started to use it i haven't last anything that wasnt down to my own stupidity
Greg Chapman 2020-03-24 06:48:15
Sometimes when you tighten up the ball it moves slightly to one side, in the rare occasions I have to level I have to hold down the right side of the plate when I tighten. It looks like the side that lifted is slightly higher than the other

I usually don’t chime in much anymore but I got the photon when it first came out full price. I was one of the first to take out the glass and print directly on the lcd with the wanhao and also modified my photon to do the same. I wanted better resolut ion at the time and the resins available weren’t as good as they are now since I used it for jewelry. Now two years later there are so many resins out. I’ve ran into every problem you can think of few years back. I agree with one of the comments wiping down with alcohol after every print. But also taking a razor blade to create slashes like this in all directions. It gives the resin exposure time to sink into the base and stick. Of course that would depend on your resin etc. hope that helps. Another thing about the photon is that the z is kind of at an angle when it goes up and down even after calibration. I upgraded mine using this
Jimmy Goldsmith 2020-03-24 07:52:42
I’m not sure if Bluecast still carries the kit. But it’s helped with the z wobble for the table. Calibration is the best it’ll get to 0
Nathaniel Cooper 2020-03-24 07:53:39
Just upped my exposure time and checked the print after a bit and it seems to be sticking just fine now, I'll know for sure in a few hours when its done
Jimmy Goldsmith 2020-03-24 07:57:41
I used to be on all of the 3d print groups. I’m no longer active. But you can pm me for help. I used to answer a lot before my health issues and having a baby. Goodluck
Andy Turtle Consiglio 2020-03-24 17:07:32
I started cleaning my build plate with acetone between builds. That seemed to help
Christopher Fugate 2020-03-25 00:38:22
You have large flat surfaces parallel to the build plate. That means it submerges, resin goes over the top, and then it tries to pull out and all that thick liquid resin on top of the print has nowhere to go. Which means it is pulling all that resin out, doubling or tripling the weight of the print. Tilt your model. Don't have big flat surfaces pointing at the build plate.
Mongo Rogers 2020-03-25 02:06:50
How cold is the room you are printing in? Cold is really bad for making prints peal like that
Lorenzo Di Sante 2020-03-25 03:23:28
Preheating the resin could surely help
Steven Howland 2020-03-25 04:16:02
Suction
Bernie Horowitz 2020-03-25 04:38:24
This started happening about a week before my LCD started going out on me. Next will be crazy layers. just printing in non-model areas. It really sucked. I had to replace the LCD.
Geren W Mortensen Jr 2020-03-25 07:16:51
I know you said that the build plate is leveled relative to the screen, but is the whole printer level? I found that the printer needs to be pretty close to level for best results.
Vedran Kalamiza 2020-03-25 17:23:10
^this ?
Adam Zed 2020-03-26 03:21:46
Jimmy Goldsmith can you link where to find this?
Jimmy Goldsmith 2020-03-26 03:29:42
Let me make this post public for everyone
Jimmy Goldsmith 2020-03-26 04:53:15
Adam Zed posted. Now I remember why I don’t get on much. People trying to debate etc. But I’ve posted a thread with the link check it out and good luck.
