Hey guys thanks for the add. I'm new to 3d printing and resin printing. What would you guys say is the best resin for manufacturing or higher heat applications? I read that normal resin melts at 375 degrees?

Hey photonsters, I’ve got a tip to try. I was feeling too cheap to pay for the twin rail upgrade, so while I was swapping my LCD tonight I thought I’d try a free upgrade with some spare parts I had lying around. I tapped a hole (Make sure it’s a tight fit) through the case lip at the top into the top of the z rail and ran an m3 screw through to anchor the top of the z rail to the case. It made for a DRAMATIC improvement in the rigidity of the z rail. Test prints will have to wait till tomorrow night since I still need to swap my fep as part of this maintenance cycle and it’s late, but at least it’s some food for thought for people!

P.s. I was expecting to have to notch the lid for it to be able to close and somehow I got lucky and it worked out not needing it! Mileage may vary.

Whoever suggested using a 3D mouse when modeling is now my hero. I just started using mine today and it is fantastic. I also hopped into Lightwave3D's Layout and moved my camera in ways that ooo'd and aaaah'd me. This would have saved me so much time at work.

Question for any other Aussies in the group, particularly those who ordered direct from Anycubic.

Did you have any issues getting your delivery in full? I ordered the Photon directly with extra film and resin, but when delivered it was just the printer (nothing more frustrating than having to wait another week for third party resin to arrive). I thought maybe it was being shipped separately, after two weeks raised a ticket, and have just been told that "it's not allowed to ship liquids in Australia" - clearly false since my other resin came through the post without issue.

Although they're now claiming they'll be in contact re partial refund, I'm extremely frustrated with Anycubic right now - they took money for an order they apparently had no intention of fulfilling and planned on keeping it unless it became a problem for them. Has anyone else in Aus had a similar problem (or had their printer delivered with resin)?

Printing the amulet from Trollhunters for my son. I scaled it down to 55%, I had to print the base 3 times. The first two were too close to the build plate I think. This is a print from thingiverse. The center is one piece and will spin. I've got some clear resin and blue glow in the dark powder to give it the blue glowing effect.

The center is painted alclad dark aluminum. Everything else will get the same treatment with a black wash to pick out details. Once painted, it will get a dullcoat to kill the shine.

Impulse experimental print. Hollowed to 2mm. How many different ways do y'all think this will fail? Think I'll wait till tomorrow to start the printing, that way it can run a bit before I go to bed and I can top off the vat.

is anyone using Zsuite for slicing? I tried it and it outputs a .photon file but the printer starts out saying 8% complete on the first raft layer. it prints the raft and then says 100% complete. i dont see where i get any settings to fix this. i was hoping to output an stl of the tray wiht supports but i also don't see that capability.

Hey guys I just re-leveled my build plate by the paper method and printed everything was going good up until the end where it just made it flat and one of the tails failed out of the 6 any idea what could be going wrong?
