Got a "simple" question. Coming from an FDM printing background (still have my trusty old prusa, it's not going anywhere), I'm curious about some supports tips and tricks.

I will use my photon mainly to print mini's for my d&d campaign, but the question/bane of my existence on the FDM side has been placement and number of supports.

I know with SLA printing the use of supports is a different animal due to the way that SLA printing works. I downloaded chitubox, and imported a model and added supports, with the base up off the build plate by a bit. Where I need help is what, in general to watch for on the support front. (i.e. this kind of geometry needs support, this doesn't)

Just got my Photon. Using Chitubox, Anycubic green resin, and custom tweaks to the Chitubox settings that I located online. Third print yielded this. The model is in there, and mostly ok. However, there is a layer of resin cured to the FEP, and what looks like another layer of similar FEP junk that somehow got stuck to the side of the model supports. Any idea on what I am doing wrong to cause the layers of cured resin on the FEP? I am using the Flint Read method to level the bed.

Hi everyone. Does anyone have suggestions on free programs to use for creating the 3D models? I'm a noob and I only know about Tinkercad. I don't mind learning more complicated programs to be able to have more control and options. I want to be able to create some siege towers, castles, ships, monsters, and mechs. Thanks, guys.

I like the color of unprimed resins. Is there a way to protect them without covering up the color? Dip it in sunscreen or soemthing lol?

Riddle me this? I have chintobox went in and put the factory dimensions in for the Anycubic photon. I see my build plate this way when I set up a print and get this when I print. Help is needed.

I have read many reviews and options between using IPA, “green cleansers” and Mr.Clean to wash either in containers or ultrasonic cleaners. Through all the research there is several people still using IPA in ultrasonic cleansers and some have for years. What preparations and precautions are you taking when using IPA like this? (No, that’s not IPA that’s mean green), it works very well but I feel I would rather use ipa due to the evaporation factor
