Other than the Formlabs software, are there any programs out there for resin printers that are designed to find the optimal angle for a model based on its geometry and minimising stresses on the FEP?

I'd love to see something that does a quick run through and adds supports to every area there may be a floating island, but also rotates to the optimal angle to ensure the lowest amount of pull force overall for a given model, as well as taking into account the stresses on portions of the model that have supports, and perhaps building stronger supports where pull force might cause deformation.

Anyone know if that exists or if any software maker is building something like it? 'Cause that would be gold.

When printing big figures are you guys using Medium supports or light? I’ve printed two with medium and as soon as they’re done I take the supports off, it leaves marks behind which I’ll need to sand off, I’ve no problem doing this I’m just curious if everyone else has to?

In answer to all the questions about the lifetime of resin left in the vat: my last print was October 2018. Resin left in machine, stirred and printed today.

Machine is covered with an £8 birdcage cover from eBay.....

So, I have been watching and reading foe a while now. With the latest sale I bit the bullet and purchased a Photon, it arrives today. I’m looking forward to seeing what this printer can do!

My first question - I have downloaded the AnyCubic slicer and ChiTuBox. The ChiTuBox has a lot more options, so is it the better slicer?

Second - I will be printing 1:64 scale figures and I see that most prints are at an angle. What is the preferred angle? (30, 45 degree or other)

Third - supports, for FDM I use Meshmixer. Should I continue with Meshmixer or use the support generator in ChiTuBox?

Thanks in advance for helping make make my first Photon printing experience successfull!
