Hi, I printed my first custom print after printing the test cube which came out perfect. My print came out on a diagonal as you can see in the pictures. I also posted a pic of the sliced file. Anyone know what happened or what I did wrong? Thanks in advance.

Can i use a normal metall strainer for cleaning resin or does it have to be the throwaway one because of a finer net?

Hello everyone, thanks for letting me join.

I'm a miniature designer who's looking to buy his first printer and the more I read the harder it gets to decide which model would suit me best.
While I would absolutely love to own a Form 2 or a Solus there is no way I could afford either at the moment. So I've been reading up on the cheaper alternatives!

The Anycubic Photon and it's better cousin, the Epax X1 (Which seems really hard to get a hold of in Sweden).

The biggest problem with these seems to be the smell, but I'm thinking I should be able to solve this by using different brands of resin or adding a carbon filter to the printer.

The user community for the Photon seems to be swarming with ideas on how to run it the best way and how to improve the original design, but I'm worried that the prints won't live up to my standards.
Some people say the prints are just as good as those from the Form 2, but I've yet to see proof of that.
Most prints I've seen show a lot of layer lines so I would love to be proven wrong here!

I'm going to use the machine to print miniatures at around 32mm scale plus larger busts, around 1/6 scale.

If I buy a Photon, what else do I need to get? Besides buckets of IPA that is.

Some input would be greatly appreciated here :)

Just purchased a new Photon S printer and tried my first print today. Twice now nothing has printed at all. There is nothing sticking to build plate and there is nothing in the vat either. Should the display screen show the printing progress, such as the slicing software shows the layers? As nothing is being displayed on screen other that the number of layers counters and the timer. I have levelled the build plate twice, warmed the resin and printing with ambient air temperature in the room of 18C. I have been using FDM printers for two years but this is a whole new ball game. I am using Monocure Rapid clear resin with the following settings: ( settings used are those recommend as far as I can find)
Layer 0.02, Exposure 10, Off 1.5, Bottom Exposure 60,Bottom Layer 8
The printed model is a small custom STL file that I have also printed on my Flashforge Creator Pro printer so I can compare. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

In trying to get ready for my printer arrival tomorrow, I wanted to learn how you get great detail printing teeth/fangs on minis, do they require tiny supports in the mouth, or how would it work on a model like this one? I mainly got my Photon to have my minis with pristine teeth/fangs and other little details so I want to make sure I understand how to get those results.

My third print killed my screen.
The first two prints were marvelous. I added supports and sliced the third file. Woke up to a failed print, the raft was there and a single partial support. There was cured resin on the fep.

When cleaning the fep I found a divot. I looked in the Photon and saw something on the screen. I felt the screen and immediately knew something was wrong, another divot on the screen. I inspected and the screen is cracked. The divot in the fep matched the divot to the screen.

I haven't dropped anything in the photon. Is there any way a light or medium support could crack the screen? My photon does make some noise when it starts the print, but I don't think the plate is the issue as it's flat.

I doubt I can get the screen replaced in warranty. It's not really a defect. I bought my Photon 7 days ago, and last night I bought another with the lightning deal so I could return it and get some of that discounted price. I'm not gonna send back the bad screen, but it is kind of ironic.

Which ChiTuBox version is stable and not cause problems? I've got 1.4 and I can't see anything in print area after uploading STL.
Can I find older one on their website or if not maybe somebody could email me or post the link to it, please.
Many thanks.
