Feeling INCREDIBLY foolish right now.

Swapped FEP for replacement that came with Photon. Never seen a sheet of FEP before so I wasn't aware there was a protective film over it.

UGH so annoyed.

I watched maybe a dozen videos on how to change it and nobody mentioned a protective film. I just thought it was part of the film itself.

User error is the worst error when you're the user.

Hi all Guys,

i'm printing some scenery for the Kingdom Death tabletop games.
I use anycubic Grey resin,printet in 0.05 mm layer height, 115 sec/layer first 5 layer, then 15 sec/layer per the other. They are all hollow, drain hole in the bottom, 45° between platform and column base.

I sliced it using Chitu Box (that was great even in some cases adding some support between the column bases and the column itself was a little bit tricky).

I have one question for you, when did you use (and why) the light off delay?

First print on my Photon underway (@20% now) - Lattice cube.
Initial reactions;
1. Machine looks good, packed nicely in box.
2. Plate leveling was much harder that I thought :D Not 100% happy with my leveling but we'll see how the test cube looks...
3. Screen is tiny and contrast is very low. No way I'm able to read print times at the bottom, no way, not a chance.

Hey guys - looking at spec of Photon-S and general feeling here - we can all agree, existing Photon owners don't feel like Photon-S is so much better to warrant an upgrade from Photon.
However people that want better quality and want to upgrade for better quality will look else where with bare minimum improvements over Photon being - Stronger/More unified light source, Dual Z-axis rails, Bigger build volume.

Natural upgrade is Phrozen - with other new entries to the market.

Hence, looking at this from buisness case:
- people that want to upgrade photon will go else-where, will not upgrade to photon-S
- photon-S is still entry level gear and just brings it in line with current competition

In order to maintain current customer base I think this would make sense for Anycubic to offer to sell dual-rail replacement kit for existing Photon.
This would be enough to pro-long the life-cycle of existing Anycubic Photon - delaying the outflow of existing users to different brands (and if someone moves away from Anycubic, doubtfull, even if Anycubic releases something amazing - that person will go back)

What are your opinions?

Question. When building a model, such as a dead pool bust. It seems to be printable supportless, but is there a way to print directly on the buildplate and make it hallow without getting resin stuck inside the model? I would normally add a couple holes under the model amongst all the supports, but directly in the buildplate would make the holes pointless if in the bottom.

I would just like a cleaner flare bottom without supports, but save resin with a hollow model.

Thanks for the add. Been printing for a while with FDM (Ender 3 pro + CR-10s) but Photon arrving later today :D

Plenty of mods such as filtration and fans etc already printed but no doubt be picking some brains over the comming weeks.

Finally got a little time to put some paint on some of my prints :) ( Yoda have some failed parts... so I experimented with airbrushing.. there is soo many layers of paint on him hahahaha ) Toothless was made for my wife :) ( very hard to print, the model is not that great for printing)
