I have a question about the slicer software that comes with the printer. In the image I've attached I need to add supports to the squirrel's arms but no matter what I try the slicer program won't add a support there. Any idea what the problem might be?

I may have just earned my entrance to the Evil Genius Club. I told my wife I agreed with her that I need to do more to keep my game room clean. I took the very nearly empty bottle of smelly green resin that came with my printer and I pour some rubbing alcohol in it. Then I shook it up and poured it into a spray bottle and told my wife I bought a strong industrial cleaner. Now any smells coming from the game room are just me being a good husband.

Hi Guys, I thought I would share my issues with you all, So I seem to have found a bug in the photon.

To give you the low down I am a Mac user currently!, after slicing a file and sending it to print I noticed there nothing on the build plate"miss calibration on my part" so I stopped the print!

This caused an M_11800 error after formatting on a mac the USB stick caused the printers Z axis to stop working nightmare.

Lucky for me I have a PC nearby and after reformating on that it seemed to solve all my problems.

I really feel Any cubic need to up there game when it comes to the software side of things. From now on I am going to have 2 or 3 top spec USB sticks on rotation.

I remember watching a YouTube video about this guy requiring a lot of dimensional accuracy on his Photon. I remember he took all the individual images from the slicer and did some sort of batch job in Photoshop. Does anyone else recall this video? I'm trying to look for it. Thank you.

Note) I am not an engineer and the following is just a summary of Google search results.

The Z-axis used by photon and EPAX are all based on guide rails using bearings, but they are different types.

Photon is a SG (Speed Guide) type with three bearings located between two steel rods. EPAX is an OSG(Outside speed guide) type with four bearings located on the outside of two steel rods.

SG type is good for Y direction load. OSG type is Good for Z direction load.

The SG rail is less noise, durable and easier to maintain than a linear motion (LM) guide rail. However, since it has fewer contact points than LM guide rails, it is not suitable for high loads.

If print size increases like phrozen, it would be appropriate to use the LM guide rail.

And Photon-S consists of two SG type rails combined together. It can be said that the combination of SG type and OSG type. It's also much wider than Photon's rails.

I can be sure that EPAX's Z-axis is more stable than Photon. However, the performance of Photon-S double SG type rails will not be known until there is a detailed comparison.

I have a anycubic photon and am looking to get some resin to print 6mm miniatures, I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with "B3D Tough Low Odor Resin for DLP or LCD SLA 3D Printers"
