Took the plunge and ordered a Chiron today to go with the Kossel for small parts and the Photon for tiny tiny parts, I am sooo excited to be adding to the Anycubic stable here in darkest Somerset. so i am a Chironster too now!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for welcoming me to the group. I have had my anycubic photon for a couple of days now and am loving it. Using the rapid resins from monocure and the results are better then I could have hoped.

I am having 1 issue that I hope someone may be able to help with. So on a couple of prints the build plate has just sat almost still, moving just a tiny amount. This caused a hilarious print failure to occur and I now have half a succubus. The print was still stuck to the build plate and still completed, just with the top half of the succubus in about a 2mm area. Nothing was left at the bottom of the resin vat. Just wondering if anyone has run into a similar issue and what your solution was. It could be as simple as I need to grease the Z shaft more but I am considering taking the unit apart to make sure its aligned properly.

Thinking of making the plunge and getting a photo finally. I've a very experienced FDM printer but not at all at this. I've seen curing chambers and other such things. Aside from the base machine what else is recommended, and are there any good guides posted anywhere to get started? Thanks!

Printing at 100u
This model is from Duncan Shadow and is a storm giant , using these in our d&d campaign

120mm high
Monocure rapid black
4 base laters at 80s then 9 sec exposures

Normally I print at 50u but after the published paper last week comparing 100u fdm vs sla I decided to experiment

This has had a first clean with resinaway but hasn't been cured yet. I'll need to give it another brush before curing

zooming in and looking closely you can make out the lines , there is also a regular larger line appearing and also a failed section on the shield. Time for a strip down and fep check I think

Without zooming in I struggle to see these lines compared to 50u
Print speed is so much faster as well
Great for prototyping prior to final detailed print
