So ive been having issues with my printer after the auto leveling process where instead on the printing head swinging out then to the center to start printing. The head swings forward after the auto leveling then drops down into the table and pops the arms off!! The few times it has gone to the center and tried printing the nozzle was getting pushed so hard into the glass table the center bracket gets pushed up! Since Atom customer support wont help or respond to issues with thier printers if anyone has seen this issue please help' my printer is basically a paperweight and im tired of wasting my time with it! my software is updated so im at a roadblock!

try this : https://atom3dp.squarespace.com/mechanical-problems-1/#head1
also when auto leveling slow down the speed to 10%...

Are you trying to print their test print stls or your own?

Yinka Alade

Also, the auto leveling works just like the instructional video?

Ive been using this printer for 8 months with no issue! i know how to adjust the auto level screw!! this is a code issue... does anyone know of a customer support contact for Atom printers or do they just not care about thier product after selling it??

u can email to support@atom3dp.com.

I suggest not typing exclamation points to people trying to help you. It gives the impression you're yelling.

If it's a code issue, why would it be their (Atom's) problem then? That sounds like a problem in your g-codes. Do you have any old g-codes you know for a fact worked before you had this problem? Do they also too not work?

Birk Binnard
2016-05-31 12:26:30

I agree - it sounds like GCode problem. Post the first 20 lines or so of GCode that results in the problem. That should tell the story.

ill try that next time!!!!!!

Bryan Grude

Yinka im here to ask anyone if theyve seen this issue before!!!!!! i have tried old and new stl files, uninstalled and re-installed Cura many times with no avail! if you seriously have no constructive help or suggestions then bitching at me about excla mation points really isnt going to help! im frustrated with Atom for not setting up before manufacturing a product a customer service line for unknown issues like this one! i have every right as a consumer to be frustrated even though in the end it was my fault for purchasing this item!!!! and if it is a gcode issue then great ill jump on that troubleshooting first thing tomorrow but until then im on here asking for thoughts on fixing the issue, so if your not here to lend a hand just please keep it moving and keep your opinion to yourself

Yinka Alade
2016-05-31 13:51:23

Use one of atoms test print stls and see if it happens still. If it does it's not a gcode problem

maybe your end stop sensor is broken.

Bryan Grude If you know how to use pronterface.

Wondering if some setting abnormal in EEPROM .

Bryan Grude I understand your frustration about you shit not working properly. If you want anyone to help you stop behaving like a litte bitch and be polite. We are all makers and eager to help one an other. Now, have you tested with one of Atom's re ady made stl's? If this prints then it is not an issue with you printer. The issue is with your slicer/gcode writer. Please try one thing at a time and post your progress also the solution would be nice to hear about. Good luck.

guys, just bear him, i know that feeling when printer won't work.

Birk Binnard

Bryan - this kind of problem has been reported elsewhere a few times:

https://www.craftunique.com/forums/view-thread/1558

https://www.craftunique.com/forums/view-thread/1630

The end-stop sensor is not the problem - this sensor is not used during printing. In fact, once you have completed an Auto-Level (which does use the sensor) you could remove it and not know the difference.

Ive had an Atom 2.0 delta printer for about 9 months now and have been apart of the Facebook Atom 3D Printer Group for support since buying it! I look at all the postings daily to see what people do to improve thier prints and machine, but alot of good information seems to be lost in translation! With this issue i am asking all out there on this group if we could possibly make an Atom 3D USA Printer Group so there wont be as many issues translating these issues! It would be a good way for people to share even more information and create a community that could help each other! Please share on this post what you think of this idea and see if we can get this started! If you like this idea please also share this post and like it so we can create it! Thanks

i am just a bit skeptical on how many english speaking users are there with Atom 2.0, but it's definitely helpful to hv a group for that. Please let us know on this group when u form a new one.

Bryan Grude
2016-05-19 22:44:23

There may not be many users but the ones out there do need help at times and we shouldnt be isolated due to the limited numbers of people! we spent the money to use this product just as you have so a group that can share ideas easier is only benifiting Atom as a company

Po Ting Liu
2016-05-19 23:11:47

I remeber there's a ATOM 2.0 international club for english speakers, perhaps you should ask admin

Po Ting Liu said that there is a english speaking group. I wonder where to find it?!

Birk Binnard
2016-05-27 00:44:54

An English language discussion board has been set up prior to Atom initializing its expansion to the US market. The bard uses the Slack software https://slack.com/downloads and right now has only a very few members and no significant content. The moderator is in the US now and will hopefully be ready to add new members soon.

Well i keep hearing about an Atom international fb group but havent found it during a search! I am having major issues with my printer and since there is little to no customer service support from Atom to fix printer issues i will just have to create a fb page and hope i can resolve my isseus on my own!

I had problems and solved them all. Whats the problem? ?

黃俊傑

Birk Binnard

The new English group should be announced on Monday. In the meantime post your issues here and help will arrive.

Bryan Grude
2016-05-29 06:39:46

after the auto leveling process ends the hot end instead of printing drops down directly into the glass so hard it pops the arms off

Yinka Alade
2016-05-29 06:40:56

Most of my issues I've solved through Birk Binnard, one other friend, and Google .

But yea, I see so many posts and wonder, "what are they talking about and would it help me?"

Yinka Alade
2016-05-29 06:42:09

Wait, so at the end of the auto level it goes back down into the glass or it goes down into the glass when you try to print?

Bryan Grude
2016-05-29 06:49:17

What would be nice is Atom having some sort of customer support for the product they sell!

Birk Binnard
2016-05-29 07:18:30

Bryan - the Atom folks are aware of the need for customer support in the US. There should be some news about this starting next week.

About your problem: If the printer completes the Auto Level procedure correctly, meaning it senses the print bed at e ach location and then returns to a center position when done, the problem you described sounds like bad GCode. "Bad" means GCode generated by a slicer that is tailored for a particular printer that has geometry and/or control circuits different from the Atom2.

Can you post the first 20 lines or so of the GCode you tried to print? It will look something like this:

; GCode generated by CraftWare

G28 ;Home
;G0 F2400 E-5.0000 <===== Comment this

M109 S190 ;set head temp (wait)
; ------------------------------------
; Layer #0
; ------------------------------------
G21 ; mm
G90 ; abs
G92 E0 ; reset extr
M106 S0
;segType:Skirt
;G0 F2400 E-5.0000
G0 F3300 Z0.200
G0 X-52.398 Y51.575 F4500
G0 F2400 E0.0000

This is GCode I recently created with the Craftware slicer. It generates a line of code that the Atom2 does not like, so I commented it out - see the last line that starts with a ; character - this is the special character that causes the printer to ignore everything on that line following the ;.

My guess is your GCode will have some command that causes your printer to try to reach a position outside it's limits. Doing this is not good - you risk breaking a timing belt, gouging your print bed, or throwing off the geometry of the printhead frame.
