Is this too scratched up? Im hoping the failure is just from me putting elegoo grey at 8 seconds instead of 12.

Hello all! I just got my Anycubic Photon printer last night. I'm 100% new to 3D printing (I'm primarily an artist that creates 3d models and illustration but I've always wanted to have my models printed physically.) I have TWO Questions, with images provided.

Firstly, I printed a tiny benchy as a test of the Printer.
The print went well for most of the model but towards the end, Benchy fell off the print bed for some reason. I found it floating in the resin vat.
Could this be due to a leveling issue, or perhaps an exposure duration issue? Or a mix of both? Any advice in identifying the issues when it comes to learning the mysterious process of printing as a newbie to all this?
I believe the settings in the file were as follows

Layer Thickness: 0.05
Exposure time: 10.5
Off Time: 1
Bottom Exposure Time: 80
Bottom Layers: 8

- - - -

Secondly,
I want to print the model I made of one of my characters. He's definitely more complex than a basic Benchy Boat, and I used the provided Slicer software to auto-generate supports. My question for this model would be:
1. Does it need supports added at the tip of the braid and sidebangs? Or will those (ideally) cure to the printer bed and form as it rises?
2. Would the settings shown in the image be adequate exposure and layer thickness time for this type of a model?

Sorry for all the noob questions. But I appreciate any input, as well as any helpful links and resources so I can do some reading on my own as well.
Thank you! :)

I think the island detection is a bit too aggressive. Technically this is an island but it would be nice to have an option to ignore pixels that are supported by at least 1, 2, 3 or 4 diagonal pixels.

Anyone have experience with the shelf life of Anycubic resin? I just got 1L of flesh from amazon, only date on it is 2018/09/05. I have read the typical shelf life is 12 months, so best case scenario is this expired 40 day ago. Im sure it will still work, but for how long is the question.

Im going to get a refund from Amazon, but they will probably just tell me to keep it.

In case anyone might be wondering why their prints are coming out puffy or sticky and are using Elegoo grey...it might be a bad batch of resin.

This is what I was dealing with when I received a recent bottle of grey. I've been printing for almost a year now and never had puffy and sticky grey prints. The settings, cleaning, and UV processes were the usual, but these prints were not. I even tried different exposure settings and harsher cleaning methods. Nothing was working. So I decided to try Elegoo Maroon. It's hard to argue that the grey bottle wasn't a dud after seeing the comparison. Luckily Elegoo agreed when I sent them these photos and explained the issue. They'll be sending me a new bottle!

Scrolled through quite a bit looking for posts that discuss the use of threaded inserts in resin prints. The little doohickies that you can press into a hole of an FDM print to give you proper threads. Usually a brass alloy.

Question is, will this sort of thing work in a resin print as well as it does in an FDM print. Ease of insertion, holding power, etc.

Followup questions are:
How well do printed threads work inside holes?
How well does tapping a hole work?

Thanks in advance.

One noob question :)

I'm printing bigger statue and I run out of anycubic clear green (have torso and head, needs arms and legs now). Unfortunately local store sent me by mistake CLEAR one (not green) and I noticed that when I start pouring it, didn't expect they might send me the wrong one. Will there be huge difference when I start "connecting" parts and paint them? I plan to put base primer and continue with paints, I guess there should be no difference or there might be some visible difference (later, during paint) ?

I know it's probably noob question :)
