So, I was trying out Grey Hero 3D printing resin. Printing out a model with multiple smallish parts (too small to hollow). First batch came out great, second batch looked good but after curing (both with LED and sunlight) some pieces are sticky. I cleaned both groups the same (IPA and a wash) after printing.
Print setting for each group where the same. Any idea why the one would still be sticky? I should say they have probably a total of 10 hours cure time at this point.

The odyssey begins!

I might have put a tad too much resin in there, but after all the research I'm finally starting my first print!

Printing some spaceship prows and replacement dimmer light switches. We'll see how it turns out in about 3 hours ?

odd little thing here.

had a few successful prints, went to do a print but the text for the print file on the photons touch screen was in red, is this a problem? tried reslicing the file and tried a second usb but the text was still red. any thoughts?

Question about anycubic red resin.... The resin I bought is not marked as translucent, but it is definitely translucent. Having printing issues with it. The supports are all blended together and the honeycombs are all one solid surface. It prints properly in black. So... Should my red resin be translucent or is it a bad batch/mis-labeled? And the red resin settings on the spreadsheet seemed to make the problem worse... I had an exposure time of 8 and then found the spreadsheet and adjusted it to 16 with off time at 1. Should the exposure time be cut down to maybe 4 or 6 or something? I was hoping for solid red, but the translucent looks pretty cool. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

New to the group. Have a tip. When using Rhino 6 to make models for anycubic photon s, if you have mirrored something, the mirrored part (not the original) will show as black in the slicing program and you will not be able to add supports to it. After 28 attempts, I finally decided to simply copy and paste the part and rotated it 180 degrees and put it where it needed to go. Problem solved. Hopefully this helps someone who has run into this issue or will run into this issue in the future.

Got my printer yesterday. Calibrated it with the manufactures paper method. Boom success~ Loaded my first models in ChiTu Box (after watching a million youtube videos on proper support settings) Ran them through the Photon File Validator, manually fixed the islands. First print failed because I had bottom layers on 40. Bumped to 80 and tried again... That print should be done in an hour, so far is looks awesome, it's holding on to the plate and I filled the whole plate for this print. (6 tavern tables for my D&D campaign) :p

My advice for total noobs like myself. Read everything this group has to offer. Take your time and put in the work, there aren't any trick shortcuts to good prints. Took me about 2 hours setting up supports for my first print, but ill get faster :p

hey all, totally new to this group and new to this type of printing. I received my photon in the mail last friday. the first few prints were perfect and I was super excited but after those the prints consistently stick to the bottom of the vat. I’ve tried leveling the plate at least ten times using different methods, replaced the plastic sheet in the vat, increased the number of bottom layers/ exposure times but I’m getting the same result. Does anyone have any advice, or can point me in the direction of a good resource for this issue?

Thanks in advance ?

Because I'm an idiot and getting fed up after several print failures piling on top of each other and not managing to get even one proper piece after 10+ tries, I made a mistake and poured (through a filter, I'm not THAT idiot) the bottom of my vat (with transparent green resin, probably 50 mL approx) in my brand new untouched bottle of 500 mL opaque orange.

What should I do now ? Can I still use the mix by doing intermediate exposure time settings ?

Please, really please, don't go "pay more attention" or "store your bottles otherwise", I had a complete meltdown over it and over these failures and I really can't take it right now...

I have finished my 3D figure print for Nova. This design by Patrick Garcia was styled in an MCU manner. It looks excellent and was a great file to print and paint. I printed the head and arms in resin on my Anycubic Photon and the rest of the figure and base was printed on my Ender 3 in PLA.

All paints used where Vallejo using both airbrush and hand brushing for weathering and for shading on the flesh.

This file is available in the 3D Crowd Fund facebook page.

Hi. I currently have Roland CNC machines I use to create wax masters in for jewellery. I also have a Cetus 3D filament printer which is brilliant but no good for jewellery.

This is a question specifically aimed at those that have used CNC machines with wax, but have had a go with the likes of the Anycubic Photon. What is the surface finish like. Is it ready to use for creating moulds, or does it need a lot of sanding to make it usable?

I have a great finish with my current setup, but some designs could do with a print in one go solution, rather than multi-sided machining to get awkward angles in. I like the look of the Photon, but have an aversion to lots of sanding down. ?

All help, advice and suggestions greatly appreciated. At the moment I would prefer a low cost solution like the Photon, to see how the process works out first.

Thanks....
