So I decided to do a little experiment. I've read the comments multiple times about leaving prints in IPA too long can cause cracking and also read the article from a resin manufacturer and the test results they got. They did say it varies from resin to resin but I've only ever used Anycubic resin and I've never noticed cracking from soaking in IPA for too long.

I generally try to shoot for 5 to 10 minutes but there's been tons of times I forgotten about it overnight for several hours. Never seen cracking or any negative effects from doing so.

So over the last three days I conducted an experiment of soaking a miniature in IPA for 72 hours straight. I took photos at the 6 hour mark in comparison to one that was only soaking for 5 minutes. Another picture at 24 hours. And final 72 hour mark.

Now to be clear I'm not suggesting or recommending you should soak your parts for 72 hours I'm just sharing my experience and decided to do my own tests using anycubic resin. To confirm my results there is absolutely no cracking from soaking IPA for a few hours let alone three days.

If you would like to make your own test using a different resin and share your results I would be interested to see.

These prints are extras/scraps, so no effort in clean up of supports was taken, they were printed at the exact same time and are more or less the same shape just a different pose. They are regular 28 mm scale printed solid at 0.05 layer height. And the resin colour is a mixture of any cubic orange, skin, aqua blue, clear and transparent green lol

Sorry for the flurry of posts today, and this one might sound like paranoia, but is there ANY chance of the XP Resin test breaking the Photon?

I ask because I just ran through the process for my first resin test. I installed the test-mode.gcode and the motor wound up and made a much lower sound than I previously heard. The test ran, again with the same low sound. After, I couldn't move the z-axis up or down no matter what I tried.

I noticed the UI was having issues too and wouldn't show me the full contents of the USB drive.

Fortunately, Amazon has a stellar return policy so I'll have a new printer at a cheaper price and fresh resin in two days time, but I mainly just want to sort out of the timing was coincidental or if installing the gcode has even a remote risk involved. I don't want to confuse correlation to causation, I'm just mainly looking for a sanity check.

If it matters, I had upgraded to 4.2.19 a few days prior.

Well it's official. I am completely f**cking done with opaque resins (orange at least) 17 failed prints with 15 different settings and nothing. Bought some translucent green and printing first time. Me thinks I'll stick with what I know. It's getting painted anyway ? oh btw. Do all translucents have the same viscosity/ cure time roughly? May want to use yellow and clear at some point.

Hello guys, hopefully someone can help. I am trying to print tower miniatures.

I have 2 photons ( both new) , both leveled, using the same print settings, same resin (syraya blue).

One of the photons prints tower miniatures ok, but the second prints them few mm shorter in the bottom where touching buildplate ( I am not using supports).

Like on the one photon few, I dont know how many layers, got merged together or something.

And the bad print is also more milky (they were both cleaned same way)

Any clue how to fix this?
