Just finished my first successful print last night. The first cube attempt failed but I searched through this group and watched some YouTube videos, re-leveled the plate, tightened the FEP and re-attempted to print the cube and got a nice print. Thank you for being a helpful community. I jumped the gun and made the Photon my first 3D printer. No prior experience printing. This was pretty much out of the box using the cube file and the stock firmware. Should I consider upgrading the firmware before slicing and printing my next 3D prints?

I didn't see a direct answer to this. I've leveled the bed a few times, definitely didn't have it perfect the first time, could only print on a third of the bed successfully, but hey, it's learning attempts.

I redid the level, finally ran the test cube, and it printed in whole, but the back corner of it collapsed. Not the support raft, but the framework. It collapsed it seems, after printing, because the later layers without alternate support did stay connected. essentially the bottom two square edges of the back left is broken, but the rest came out fine and whole. Base layers did print and held firm to the build plate.

My question is, is this ok? Is it normal for that test print to break in some spots or should it print flawless from the provided slice?

Ok, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Got my printer yesterday and 4 out of 4 prints have failed. On my Ender 3 I would have called it adhesion failure. My questions are:

1. Is there anyway to tell if there is a failure without waiting hours for the Z to be high enough that I can see there is nothing on the plate?

2. What else can I do other than home again, shake my resin?

I’m using the cube model that came with the machine and the green resin that came with it also.

Just got a replacement LCD from Anycubic but I can't seem to get the ribbon cable to go past this section here where it looks like the cable has been clipped into an extender cable... Any tips on how to get this section inbetween the glass and printer body? Really anxious about tearing the cables as I know how fragile ribbon cables are!

I sculpted this orc head for a project and used it as my first print with a 3D printer. I Broke off one teeth when I dropped the head to test how sturdy the resin is. The first Print ever was the left one. I then shrinked the head to 4cm (1.57 inch) high in total and increased the depth of the skin pores and wrinkels. I was blown away by the detail. I do have 2 tiny errors, but they are not really noticeable by eye and will be filled. I used Ammo Mig Primer because I can coat it very thin to keep as many details as possible. I love the photon :)

Been working on a Kobold army to challenge my DnD group, and it needs to be an army since they are so little and weak!

Duncan Louca put out spearman earlier this month, and upcoming are some archers. This is my test print of the archers. Good thing Photon is amazing at small things!
