Well the first print is finished on the Anycubic that worked (I have two that arrived last week and one had issues right out of the box, it happens, working with customer service to fix the other one). Not sure if I need the raft as thick, any advice on that?

I am slicing a file and i hollowed out some of the bigger pieces. But i have a question. Will ELEGOO GREY Shrink More if it is hollow than if it was solid? Because if so Imma just make Samus Solid.

Could use help trouble shooting these issues. I have read that prints should not have a main or large face parallel to the work plate but seeing that I am making an assembly and some parts are already made.

1. I have an x,y distortion not sure if it is my z bearings loose and the plate is shifting during operation.

2. I thought i was getting pooling on the top layer due to again parallel faces to the plate and surface tension holding the resin on top, then stray uv lights curing the excess resin. Most people say pooling is fixed by brushing with cleaner but it does nothing for me here. When I measure the piece from the flat side to the peak of the rounded it is the correct dimension so I would typically look at how my supports are and the raft but they are good and secure.

Edit:

~I am using chitubox v1.5 but it was happening on v1.4.

Am i missing something? I appreciate the help.

Just got my photon a few days ago. I do a lot of 25-28 mm scale mini printing and painting. I've had a few failed prints but overall things have been going fairly well.

As I'm thinking about ways to minimize failed prints when printing a few miniatures at the same time, is there an optimal layout? Is it better to cluster miniatures together or to space them further apart? Should I keep the models centered on the plate?

Got any tips?

Idk who needs to hear this but throw away that USB and transfer the data included into your computer along with the new USB. Also every resin needs different settings. Dont be discouraged though, just think about the color you're using and think how much light can travel through it. Simple. If its black, try 70s base layer @ 12+ layers, if its translucent, start at 50s base layer @ 8 layers and so on. Hope I was of some help. The Photon is extremely rewarding and forgiving. Planning on buying a second one so I don't need to worry about switching resin as much.

Printed the test cube and it was flawless. I tried to do another item as a second print and after I loaded and pressed print it acted as if the plate crashed into the bed and was “binding” I restarted and went along my business. I have now don’t 6 failed prints in a row. I have recalibrated the bed over and over and seems to lose its calibration. I’m printing a calibration device I found in Thingiverse. This is beyond frustrating
