Well after 8 hour print here's the result, I'm really happy. Now question is, how do I glue it? Maybe I've could print it in one piece

Hi guys and thanks for accepting me into this group!

I'm looking into getting an SLA machine to mostly print these kinds of figurines..

Can I assume the Photon can give out prints with a professional finish for casting and producing on a larger scale?

Also I'm wondering what is the learning curve like on SLA machines compared to FDM? I'm used to FDM printing and the issues that come with it. But like is bed levelling a huge pain and has to be completely redone between every print? or is it okay to level it once every so often like with FDM?

Also where do you guys get your resin? I see it varies in price even more than FDM filaments vary!

thanks in advanced and looking forward to seeing your replies and photos :D

Where is a good place to buy a vat, and build plate with mounting hardware?
I got a photon for $130 missing these parts.

I got it from an amazon returns liquidation. Unit appears new and unused, and just missing the build plate and vat.

I'm new to the Photon and am producing fixtures to hold small (~0.100mm thick) organic shaped parts. I'm willing to go through any 'heroics' to get the best parts possible.

My first test parts were too large, the image below (not the precise parts I'm working on) shows 20.27 instead of 20mm. When I average 3 measurements in 2 directions I get very close to 1%.

I compensated by scaling the CAD model before saving as an STL, which should work for this case. After more research it appears that changing the cure time may reduce this. Alternatively I can apply a surface offset to my model to make it smaller by eroding material away.

Any suggestions are welcome and very appreciated!

PS: I'm on default settings and using anycubic white.
