Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團

Hi folks! I've just received my Photon and am incredibly excited to get going! My initial test print of the cube is almost finished and appears to be coming out well. In the meantime I've been attempting to slice some MWO figures from Thingiverse.

The issue I'm having is after I add supports and slice the file I'm reading it into the Photon File Validator, and it appears that no matter which way I tilt the print I'm getting a lot of 'Unsupported Islands'.

Being very new to 3D printing in general, I'm not sure how concerned I should be with this issue. Does anyone have any advice on how I should be looking to resolve it? Thanks a ton!

Can I ask what to use for 3d modeling that is not insanely expensive. I want to try my hand at making miniatures.

Just fitted new fep, then tested, the outcome was ok, I think this was a test file, printed four birdcages in in each corner and an oblong empty box. Happy with them this is one inch high

Finally had to change my FEP for the first time. The spare it came with? It has a hole in the center of it... Time to wait on some replacements.

Hello Photon owners. I'm wondering what your collective experiences are with the limits of resolution in the x-y plane using this printer? I'm currently printing a lot of things in ABS that have the general form of lots of vertically-oriented crosses regularly arranged in small containers. I have little benchies that roughly look like the attached picture--combinations of progressively thinner and progressively closer together crosses. In the final designs, the holding containers will be cubic, and the crosses will be the full height of each container. In practice, I'm getting about 1 mm thickness and ~0.5 mm proximity as the max resolution with our printer at work. What might I expect with a resin based printer like this? Thanks in advance for your advice. ? ?

Hi all!

Been having great success with the help of the Anycubic Support team, they sent a special firmware that fixed some crazy errors I was having.

Is it time to order a new screen or do you think it's an LCD firmware issue??
Thanks!!

Want to quickly check something guys please if a few of you can check and verify, especially those with a good few hours on the printer.
The cooling fan underneath for the uv light heatsink. (Not the cabinet extractor).
When the UV light activates it switches on - good.
But is pulling air down from the case underneath, now I know this should draw coming air across the heatsink fins as it draws out the heated air that passes the heatsink.
But....
I read on a post somewhere on here earlier that it should be blowing, (pushing air up into the heatsink) and some were supplied fitted upside down.
Rather than go on speculation if a few people would be kind enough to see which way theirs is set and if they've had cooling problems I'd appreciate it.
Thank you.
