So been having fun with my printer and am almost out of the green sample bottle. I know there are lots of comments regarding smell/fumes but I didn’t find it that bad (indoors but well ventilated). How do other colours/brands compare for smell? Happy to stick with the anycubic stuff for now but will likely branch out down the track. Thanks ?

Hi guys! thanks for accepting me in this group! I've just bought this amazing machine and i've a coulpe of questions. I've run a couple of prints and i've noticed a very thin layer of solid resin remains attached to the fep film, is that normal? if so should i scrape it off between every print and filter the resin? and if not, does that mean that the build plate isn't close enaugh to the film? Secondly, how do you go about removing supports? i've tried with a pair of tweezers but they remove a litte bit of material from the print itself. Finally, is the odor dependant form the type of resin or they all have the same strong smell? (i've run the printer in my garage and the odor spread through all the condo i live in ? ). thanks for your help and happy printing!

Having fun designing and printing miniatures so if that what you’re interested in feel free to join my lil page......but I am really looking for advice.

I’m going to have these cast up once I’ve completely found my feet designing them. Now I’ve heard mention that some rains can attack silicone and since they will be moulded in silicone I want to find the right stuff. Also proper cleaning in one of those jewellery bath things with something else instead of the method I am currently using. And what is the best resin for detail on this kind of print. Mini is in the 28mm scale.

I have one but...... its in a box until Christmas!!
I've some more resin, a box of filter funnels, some alcohol and a UV nail light (which my wife found hilarious!) on route. I already have face masks from airbrushing.

Any suggestions for anything else I need or should I just find some cool 28\56\72mm minis for when I get to play with real detail (until then the Ender 3 will just have to do ;) )

Any solutions? I’m getting white flaking debris in my models. I’m using Anycubic Black resin. After screwing a 1/4 inch metal bolt through a printed female threaded hole, bits of white plastic flake off. I clean with IPA after, then tap water, then UV cure for 10 minutes. The threads work well, with little friction, but of course some plastic is shaved off. I expected it to be black, but it’s white. Ideas?
