Hey guys!

What kind of settings do you use for supports when printing miniatures? I am a bit afraid that the default ones are to big and leave marks on the miniature.

anyone ever get a problem where the z axis stops moving mid print?

the printer acts like everything's fine, and thinks it's moving it between layers or moving up on pause/stop/manual move but it just prints on the same layer each time, and doesn't respond to move requests.

i had to reboot it in the end

The model completed quite OK, with the exception of the vertical hangers at the ends of the pieces which are only half the thickness of the hangers in the middle.

Overall, I'm calling it a good print, and I'll fix the damaged hangers with a few custom printed ones. Perhaps if I'd angled the pieces a bit more, there'd have been a little more surface area to support such a thin cross section.

Trying to print a 1/6 scale part of armor but the result was just too thin and flimsy. Does anyone know if there is a way to make parts thicker? I have some experience with 3d modelling but as far as I know you can only add thickness to meshs that don't have a thickness. Any advice?

SOLVED!

Hey guys! I'm new to the resin printing world after having my FDM for quite some time now.

I am experiencing a problem with some custom Heroforge miniatures I wanted to print for our D&D group. I use ChiTuBox, but I put it in the Photon slicer anyways: same problem. 3/4 no faces.

The only program it displays correctly in is the default windows 3D printing software.

Soooo...should I worry or am I fine printing just like that?

(btw printed all of them from the same files on my FDM earlier, wasn't happy with print quality but technically everything worked fine)

UPDATE ;

I've bought the Epax screen from amazon for 30$.

For all the concerned parties, thank you for your help.

First thing i've done is checking firmware, even tho i've been printing with same firmware for weeks.

Removed the screen, checked connections and then reinstalled the screen, still same problem.

Right side of the screen has dancing lights, and after couple of tries it then started moving to the other side like barcodes.

Sooooo i've been bragging about how my LCD is still working non-stop for around 1 year and now … It died couple of hours ago.

Still a good run for 40$ consumable.

And this will be the first thing i'll change. No FEP no platform etc. ( Now they will die too since I mentioned )

So where is the best / guaranteed place to buy LCD ?

It is 43$ on Anycubic's own site and says 3 to 6 business days for shipping.

Or I saw some people mentioning other brand's LCD's are better in some way, idk really.

It will be shipped to Turkey btw. So EU kind of like shipping.

I'm starting to use the Prusa Slicer and I gotta admit I'm impressed with the auto-supports on it, but I'm having trouble understanding this setting in the screenshot. In the advanced menu this same setting is called "Minimal Distance of the Support points" ..but it's still not clear. I've played around with it on different models and I See the the supporting structures are different, but I can't quite pinpoint what's different about them. It looks sort of like it affects support density in some ways, but there's a separate "Support density" setting, so it can't be it. I even looked at the source code (because it's open source), but the code is not commented so I couldn't make heads or tails of what it does. Any thoughts? Thanks!!1
