Couple weeks ago I asked if anybody knew how resilient resin was to acetone. I intended to use a resin print as a stand in an acetone vapor bath to vapor smooth ABS fdm prints. No one seemed to know but everyone seemed positive on this use case. I'm here to report back. It worked very well for 30 minute exposures. I used it to vapor smooth approximately 10 items so it was exposed to acetone vapor for approximately five hours with no signs of deterioration.

The last time I used it I put the airtight container away with the stand in it and it still had a little bit of acetone in the bottom. After a week of constant exposure (unintentional exposure) the print seems to have fallen apart. I can conclude short exposures to acetone shouldn't have too many negative effects but a prolonged exposure to acetone will cause the resin to deteriorate over time.

How well would these resins do under under water for a prolonged period of time? I'm a Wire EDM machinist and we are having problems with scratching parts with the fixturing we are currently using... I was debating printing a fixture to try and solve this problem... also how tight of tolerances can I achieve (hole diameter)? Currently have Ellegoo resin on stock...

just finished a print and there's a not so nice little error with the dice.

the 7 dice with the white arrow all have these lines that go across 3 of the dice faces. not seen this before

the other 3 dice with the red arrow have cracks in them.

the vat was getting very low on resin, could it be that for a layer or 2 there was not quite enough resin causing these lines to appear.

not sure whats causing the cracking, could it be my settings? or could it be that the dice are totally solid?

Is there any sort of ballpark formula for converting the Photon exposure times from the spreadsheet to Photon S exposure times?

The S allegedly prints quicker, but how much quicker?

Those of you printing minis with elegoo standard grey - what exposure times are you using?

The resin settings spreadsheet says 18 seconds, but I did an exposure calibration test and it looked best around 14 seconds (7th panel). Printed the test cube and it came out overexposed. I can tell by the ᵠ 35mm written on the base being a lot more clogged together than on my translucent green tests.

I've kicked off a test mini using 10 second exposures, so I'll see how that goes, but just wondering if anyone else uses lower settings than those in the spreadsheet?

I was having Z Wobble issues with my printer and took it apart using the Anycubic youtube video. I fixed the Z wobble but now I can't seem to get prints to not stick to FEP.

I've done a bunch of prints before and never had any issues that releveling the bed didn't fix but for whatever reason now it's not working. I've also tried re-slicing and move things around on the plate but no better results.

This was the best print I was able to do out of maybe 5 tries. The shoes at the bottom were attached to the FEP but the sword almost printed fine except it looked like the far-right support was stuck on the FEP till the end of the print.

Using 75% Monocure rapid grey 25% Flex 100

Any ideas?
