I just finished the heater!

Originally I was thinking of making a 'Photonsters PTC Heater Unit', but it was a bit tricky to get parts from where I live, so instead I disassemble a $16.15 small heater to get the parts I needed.

The circuit of this mini heater is very useful because it has functions such as timer, fan speed control, temperature control function, and voltage conversion.

The case was printed with PETG, and the bent part was not melted by the heat of the heater but because of the failure of the middle of printing.

Compared with 'Photonsters PTC Heater Unit', it is slightly bigger.

Studies on UV LEDs.

LCD printers use Ultra Violet-UV LEDs.
The power, shape and number of UV LEDs greatly affect the performance of the printer.

LED power: Photon 25W, Photon-S 38W, EPAX 40W, D7 30W, Phrozen 50W. D8 is unknown. Stronger LED power makes printing faster. Instead, it shortens the life of the LCD screen.

LED shapes: Photon, D7, EPAX have a centered LED and reflective cup. Photon-S, D8 and Phrozen have LEDs arranged in a grid pattern. It is generally known that the LED Array method has better performance.

Number of LEDs: 16 Photon, 28 Photon-S, 30 D7, 49 D8, and 24 Phrozen.

However, when I compared EPAX-X1 with other printers, I noticed that the colors of the LEDs were different. Unlike other printers that have a purple UV light color, the EPAX-X1 is almost blue in color.

Does anyone know the reason?

Note) I am not an engineer and the following is just a summary of Google search results.

The Z-axis used by photon and EPAX are all based on guide rails using bearings, but they are different types.

Photon is a SG (Speed Guide) type with three bearings located between two steel rods. EPAX is an OSG(Outside speed guide) type with four bearings located on the outside of two steel rods.

SG type is good for Y direction load. OSG type is Good for Z direction load.

The SG rail is less noise, durable and easier to maintain than a linear motion (LM) guide rail. However, since it has fewer contact points than LM guide rails, it is not suitable for high loads.

If print size increases like phrozen, it would be appropriate to use the LM guide rail.

And Photon-S consists of two SG type rails combined together. It can be said that the combination of SG type and OSG type. It's also much wider than Photon's rails.

I can be sure that EPAX's Z-axis is more stable than Photon. However, the performance of Photon-S double SG type rails will not be known until there is a detailed comparison.
