Hi Folks,

Does anyone find the Z wobble to be worse the heavier a print is? It seems that "lighter" prints look far better to me than "heavier" prints in terms of visible layers, despite the same settings.

So 1st print came out well, no issues at all (std test print). Carbon stack/internal filter that I made did little to nothing however - still a room full of smell. Someone suggested unplugging the fan but I'm thinking it must be there for a reason. Anyone can advise if / how long they have been running without the fan for? - Enclosure fan, not the LED one

Trying all the cheap alternatives I can think of before I go for a carbon cannister. Venting to outside is last resort for me as I live in a flat in Scotland where it's winter lol

Can anyone help me troubleshoot? I need to find out if my failed prints are my resin, my settings, or my hardware.

There is no photo of the failed print. Large or small a layer or two adhere to the build plate, and then there is a layer or two to scrape off the bottom of the FEP.
Resin is Elegoo Green.
I've tried several settings. Last was
Thickness .25 mm
Exposure Time 14
Off Time 4.5
Bottom Exposure 120
Bottom layers 16

Pic of the settings and supports on one that failed. There were a few layers on the FEP and a few on the build plate.

sometimes before printing the filename is displayed in red colour on the printer, what does that mean?

How tight should the FEP be?

Since I replaced it I can't get any successful prints.

I followed the instructions perfectly, even put the bottle cap under the FEP before screwing it in place.

EDIT:
- FEP is tight like a drum
- Bottle cap was the correct size
- Protective layers are removed from the FEP

Issue seems to be one of the following:
- Bad STL file
- Slicing issue (Will re-slice and try again)
- Apparently the Photon USB is bad quality and can affect print quality (Will try another USB)

Hi everyone! New to the group. New Photon is arriving today and I'm pretty excited! Just have a quick question. I'm going to be using this to create toys and was wondering if I can prime and paint directly on the resin after post-processing (curing, sanding, etc.) I'll be starting with a couple of custom action figure heads I created in ZBrush.

Coming from FDM printing, there is always a ton of time with cleanup and then casting silicone molds and further refining. If I could skip a few of those steps it would be awesome. This seems like a great group! Thanks in advance!

Anyone here a warhammer fan?

I found a couple of 28mm adepta sororitas/sisters of battle and scaled them up to fit the old 54mm game inquisitor and I love the results!

(models from thingiverse, just search "lady of war" by jimsbeanz)
