Just to see if I'm getting this right...after running the file through the prusaslicer for auto-supports, then do you guys run the file through chitubox for manual supports elsewhere? I haven't played with the prusaslicer much, but the auto-supports seem a little thick as well.

Hey all thanks for the add to the group. I’ve recently upgraded to the photon from a spark maker which has served its purpose up till now. Are there any tips and tricks that you vets would recommend? I’m still in the wonderful dialling in phase at the mo, 3 failed prints that have darn near welded themselves to the film instead of the bed but I’m hopeful for the 4th ? ? ?

Yesterday I received the Elegoo Plastic Resin Tanks.

Today I ran a test print.
I decided to write a short review of the vats.

-The vats are sturdier than I thought, there is barely any flex in them.

-The lids, unfortunately, are not airtight. IMHO they are nothing more than dust-covers.
(Added some foam insulation tape to provide a little bit of a seal)

When I placed the vat in my Photon, I noticed the FEP does not touch the LCD.
(And yes I touched the FEP, even though the lid says not to. So, sue me....)

It feels like there is maybe a fraction of a mm between the FEP and the LCD.

I thought this was going to be a problem, but the test print I ran, printed perfectly.

So far, I like them.
I’m going to run another print tomorrow.

So for some reason, there is resin on my lcd screen and it seems to be cured. I have no idea how it happened but this is where I am. How can I remove it without changing the lcd screen?

I’m doing this project with some international friends. We need a resin that is widely available globally, consistent prints and high accuracy.

What resin do you guys recommend for photon and also Elegoo mars. I know anycubic resin has a bad rep. Monocure rapid cure and Elegoo seems to be good.

Trying to add supports on my .stl mini and instead of getting the standard Photon S *.pws format option, I’m only getting the .pw2s which the printer doesn’t recognize. Any ideas?
