OK - I have watched the video and read the instructions, but I still cannot quite fathom what I am supposed to see in the calibration print. Is it best at 9, 8, 7 or what? Someone who gets it please help.

Ok same file, same usb, same level method. Print on one machine and it’s fine try on another and shit fails. Keep getting a thinner base layer in the middle of my build plate. I thought this was my fan cooling the middle to much and causing my resin to fail but last night I turned it off and got the same failure.

So I cleared build plate, re-levelled. Printed fine but the build plate is now so close that I am marking and I am guessing going to pierce my FEP again (the whole reason why I re-levelled again and made it a bit further away).

So I guess the question is Un-even build plate? Don’t have access to a straight edge or any proper measuring device that would answer that question for me. But I can’t see any other reason for the failures.

My printer will no longer turn on. I put the USB into the Photon and the machine started to beep at me. Unplugged, turned off, plugged USB back in, turned back on, same thing. Replaced the files on the USB and then attempted again. Will no longer turn on with or without USB plugged in. No lights, no noise, nothing. Tried on different plugs and still nothing. Adaptor has green light when plugged in so that part is atleast getting power.

Is it normal for prints to have a residual smell even after post-curing in a UV light? I feel like I’ve definitely cured it enough, but still it has a slight smell of resin.

Having an issue. Ran the resin validation test. Put printer in test mode, ran test, put it back into print mode. Went to run a print and now the screen won't light up or the z axis won't move (see video). Any ideas?

Edit: after turning it of and on a couple times and rerunning the print program from the validation, it started working again. Must have just been a glitch somewhere.

Followup to my prior post about the burns I received from the 3D printing resin. The original post is here-

After two weeks- The bandages are OFF! I can finally take a shower again. Going 2 weeks in the summer during a heat wave in the south is a challenge for anyone- and the people around them! But, we all survived it. Everything has healed up pretty well. Not done healing of course, but I'm back working with no restrictions again. Luckily, the permanent scarring will be minimal.

When I posted this various places, there were a lot of people that claimed it was fake, there was no way this was caused by resin. After all, they had gotten it on them before, and nothing had happened. People called me a fearmonger. Some said I had created the whole event just to attract attention.

You can believe what you want. I can ASSURE you that attention is the last thing I was after. I wanted to educate people about this incident, about the often overlooked potential danger of the materials that they are working with, and how being careless can cause a real problem, so that's what I did.

So, For those who don't seem to care about their own PERSONAL health, perhaps this will help. I just got the invoice from the burn center for my first treatment... Keep in mind, this doesn't include the anesthesia or surgical portion. Almost $25,000.00. Fortunately I've got good insurance, so I won't have to pay that much, but I'll still be a few thousand poorer.

I was trying to get the resin that I had spilled off the printer before it got in to the lower parts, as I was afraid it would mess with the electronics. But, for $25k, I could have bought a LOT of new printers.

So- Perhaps you can think about your FINANCIAL health.

Hey all,

My printer has recently started acting up. It ether does not move during the printing process (works during normal menu operations) or it prints the first layer fine then beeps and resets itself. I have tried with a few different files and same thing happens. After searching the group it looks like resetting the firmware is the first fix to try. But I am unable to find a step by step on how to do this. Can anyone help me with a link?
