Hi Folks, I'm having some serious problems with this printer suddenly, Here's all the relevant info:

Resin: Monocure Rapid Gunmetal Grey (Settings in Picture)

Chitubox Version: v1.4.0

So I've just switched back to using the gunmetal grey that I originally used to great success. New bottle, but no prints would stick to the plate, only the FEP. I tried the different settings profiles from the Google Doc but to no avail. I tested the frequency of the FEP and found it to be a little low, so I replaced it as I have been using the same one for almost a year now (cloudy and scratched etc). Tested the new FEP frequency and it was perfect. Tried it again with the settings posted, and still the print comes straight off of the plate after 3 or 4%. Monocure plate bond was used every time, and I have also been checking the files with the validator program. At the start of each print I can hear the popping sound of the FEP releasing from the cured resin (as it should) but then it goes quiet almost immediately. I'm completely stumped as to what's wrong with this thing, and I have commissions that i've had to push back for a week now because of this. I've even pre warmed the resin, relevelled copious amounts of times with the flint reed method (Which has always worked wonders for me) and cleaned the machine inside and out.

ANY advice is most greatly appreciated

Print fail... the model came off the support tree abut 75% through the print... I had about 25% light supports for a 28mm scale 222 armored car.

ive been trying to print this badge straight, but the only way i seem to be able to do it is to have it flat on the build plate. I would have thought something that is only 3 cm long and filled like this with supports would be fine, but i get a curved edge at the corner closest to the build plate. used auto medium supports in Lychee

Thoughts?

When i print on an angle the base always comes out uneven and poxed

Does this mean that there is no way to print a flat disc for mini's with a base at an angle?

Using chitubox and the photon file validator at the moment I'm just wondering, are you adding supports to every single pixel left after you fixed a file? Spend 4 hours doing supports on a figure and this thing is driving me nuts, still lots of minuscule islands are found.. I assume even the smallest cured pixel will have to be removed from the vat if unsupported? Haven't had to clean it or empty it yet..

So the right Support ist automatic, the left one is Manual.

Can i Connect the left one With the right, so i only have one contact Point on the model down there?

Delete the support on the left.
Place a new one *on* the support on the right and then go into edit mode and drag the support tip to the model. ?

Mario Hippmann
2019-10-02 19:32:39

how can i "add" suport to a support? all it does when i go to Add Support and click on support is a new support from the ground next to the existing support

Mario Hippmann
2019-10-02 19:33:40

Sam Bishop
2019-10-02 19:38:42

Mario Hippmann You can then change to edit instead of add and move that one around. If you move the support tip to the model and the support base in line with the other one it'll more or less be coming off the same support column. You can't have multiple supports coming off one column any other way unfortunately.

Mario Hippmann
2019-10-02 19:43:39

Sam Bishop do i have to Support this little Island ?

Sam Bishop
2019-10-02 19:55:00

Mario Hippmann it depends on what the next few layers look like - I probably wouldn't if it connects on the next layer or 2 so but you will lose a little detail that way.

Mario Hippmann
2019-10-02 19:55:22

Sam Bishop yeah the next layer connect it with the rest
