So I ordered a Photon this morning...

In getting ready for it's arrival, I am starting a checklist:

1. Tighten the FEP using this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr_wtZqBfbQ&t=914s

2. Level the print bed using this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roAqm5c3rfU&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR0x6aObAOwvyzxYz0MFblttzqpkN4q_GAM1BXDXeOVnOmNSQW4l9GPIGi4

I have a ton of gloves/paper towels on hand and this will be sitting right next to a window for venting. I've ordered a UV light for curing.

I'll use the resin that comes with the printer initially then branch out to a new resin.

Questions I still have:

1. How to hollow solid prints to save resin
2. What are the initial settings I should put on the printer (depth, time, etc.)

Just ran the resin exposure test using anycubic translucent green and from what I can tell column 6-7 seems to be the best choice for printing at 50 microns. Is this correct? Does this mean I have to use 12-14 seconds exposure? Seems a bit high for translucent resin

Working with printing using custom supports but is there another program people like to use for them besides Chitubox and the Anycubic one? Tried Auto Supports a couple times until I got the hang of it and started doing my own Custom ones and noticed both have their own bugs you have to work with.

Working with Artisan Guild's models atm but the amount of islands is nuts with some of them but as expected with as much detail as they have.

Hey guys, I’m interested in seeing if Photon is a good fit for me. I’m a wargamer and model diorama builder, I’d like to be able to print small scenery pieces at a near flawless resolution for painting.

I’m not lazy but I’m not handy. I don’t mind putting in the work to clean a printer. But I’m not great at the amount of tinkering and adjusting it took to get a halfway decent print out of my Prusa MK2. I develop my own analog film so working with chemicals and lab care is not new to me.

Is a photon more reliable, less in need of adjustments, less prone to breakage and even fire because there are less moving parts on a resin printer?
